Kristen Bell Reveals Her Daughters Aren’t Frozen Fans
Kristen Bell’s daughters, Lincoln and Delta, may not be swept up in the Frozen craze like the rest of the world, but they’ve got one big reason to appreciate it — college tuition. In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, the 44-year-old actress revealed that while her daughters don’t join in the Frozen obsession, they certainly see the perks of their mom’s role as Princess Anna in the mega-hit Disney franchise.
“They certainly appreciate it in the fact that they can go to college because of it, but they’re not part of the Frozen phenomenon,” Kristen joked.
“Because kids are meant to make you feel grounded and they are meant to reject things their parents are involved in. Even if they secretly liked it, they would never tell me,” she continued.
Kristen’s grounded attitude toward parenting seems to come from her family dynamic with husband Dax Shepard, 49. When it comes to raising Lincoln and Delta, the couple works hard to set a good example. In a previous interview with PEOPLE, Kristen opened up about modeling healthy behavior for her children.
If a disagreement happens, the pair makes sure their kids witness how they handle it the next day. “We always make up in front of them if anyone gets snarky or frustrated or fights, which we all do,” Kristen explained.
“We do not have the makeup, our conflict resolution, be behind closed doors. Even if at dinner, let’s say, one of us is frustrated and is a little snarky and then we go to bed. We’ll apologize to each other the next morning. “We always make up in front of them if anyone gets snarky or frustrated or fights, which we all do,” she added.
As for the possibility of Lincoln and Delta following in their famous parents’ footsteps? Kristen admits that at first, she wasn’t too keen on the idea. “You know it’s interesting, when I first thought about it, I thought, ‘Oh, I don’t want them to be actors. There’s too much rejection,’” Kristen revealed. But Dax quickly offered a different perspective.
“Then my husband said, ‘Wait, do you like your life? Do you have fun? Are you overpaid? Do you get to be creative every day?’ I said, ‘Yeah.’ He said, ‘Why would you not want that for your kids?’” the actress recalled.
And if Lincoln and Delta do decide to pursue acting, Kristen would offer simple advice: “There’s a lot of rejection, but brush it off because if you’re doing what you love, something will find you.”
In the meantime, whether they’re into Frozen or not, Kristen’s daughters are set to live their own stories — just with a little help from their mom’s Disney magic.
