Kylie Jenner Unveils Son’s New Name And Gets Fans Cringing At The Name’s Arabic Meaning
Kylie Jenner has finally revealed the new name given to her son and second child with American rapper Travis Scott.
The new name comes only a few days before his first birthday on February 2nd. Travis and Kylie’s son was first named Wolf in March of last year, a month after his birth. A while later, the couple went back on the name and has now made a new name public.
Kylie announced the new name on her Instagram page, where she shared a series of photos on Saturday, January 21 and captioned it: “AIRE.” The slide show featured four photos of the baby, including ones where Kylie held him lovingly.
Commenting on the picture, her mom, Kris Jenner, wrote: “I love you Aire Webster.”
Speaking on why the couple dropped the first name, Kylie clarified that they had to change her son’s name when they realized that the name didn’t fit his personality. She updated fans about this on March 21, 2022, saying: “FYI OUR SONS NAME ISN’T WOLF ANYMORE. WE JUST REALLY DIDN’T FEEL LIKE IT WAS HIM…JUST WANTED TO SHARE BECAUSE I KEEP SEEING WOLF EVERYWHERE.”
Last September, the mom of two was live on The Late Late Show With James Corden, where she stated that they were yet to “officially, legally change his name.” At the time, she told James Corden that “his name is still Wolf, his passport’s Wolf, but that isn’t gonna be his name. We’re just waiting and simmering on it…We don’t call him Wolf.”
Now that the name has been “officially, legally changed,” fans presume that the little boy might get another name change soon, especially after discovering the name’s Arabic meaning.
Journalist Antoinette Lattouf tweeted: “Umm should someone tell Kylie Jenner she renamed her son Aire which is a common Arabic expression for ‘my penis’ or nah? Anyway, I doubt many people have noticed. After all, Arabic is only spoken by around 415 million people.”
While speaking on The Late Late Show last September, the cosmetics mogul told James Corden that the name Wolf was an in-a-spur-of-the-moment kind of name because he wouldn’t have gotten a social security number if his name didn’t appear on his birth certificate.
“So I felt the pressure to choose a name, and then Khloe said, the day before we sign, ‘what about Wolf?’…I like the WW, so we just put Wolf Webster in that moment. Right after I signed the birth certificate, I was like, ‘What did I just do?’ It’s a part of his story, but his name has changed,” Kylie shared with James Corden.
