La Dolce Vita: All About Madonna’s 66th Birthday Bash in Italy
Queen of Pop Madonna celebrated her 66th birthday at a lavish party in Italy. She posted a carousel of 20 photos on Instagram, captioned simply: “La Dolce Vita…………….. 🎂🥂🇮🇹 ♥️”
The private took place at an intricately decorated amphitheater in Pompeii. All six of Madonna’s children—Lourdes (26), Rocco (24), David (18), Mercy (18), Stella (11), and Estere (11)—were in attendance, along with some close friends and the singer’s rumored boyfriend, soccer player Akeem Morris.
Madonna wore a white gown trimmed with gorgeous lace detailing, with massive gold necklaces and other jewelry draping down her neck and to her waist. The singer and her guests stayed at the Villa TreVille resort and spent the weekend celebrating on the Amalfi Coast.
This was a fitting celebration of life for the pop icon, as just the previous year, she was hospitalized for a serious bacterial infection for months. She had to stay in the ICU for several days for treatment and had to pause the Celebration World Tour, which was the celebration of her 40-year career.
In July, just a few weeks before her 65th birthday, Madonna posted a heartfelt thank you message to her children on Instagram: “Love from family and friends is the best Medicine. One month out of the hospital and I can reflect. As a Mother you can really get caught up In the needs Of your children and the seemingly endless giving……….. But when the chips were down my children really showed up for me. I saw a side to them I had never seen before. It made all the difference.”
Madonna’s Gift to Pompeii
Madonna officially turned 66 on August 16th. That evening, she attended a performance by Sogno di Volare (‘I Dream of Flying’) at the ancient theater in the Archaeological Park of Pompeii. Per a press release, she is funding the entirety of the following season of performances by the local youth act through her Ray of Light foundation.
Pompeii Director Gabriel Zuchtriegel stated: “I sincerely thank Madonna for her generosity, vision, and humanity, which will be a great source of inspiration for us on our journey ahead.”
After many setbacks, the director is grateful for the support from one of the world’s most renowned artists. He continued, “From Madonna, the gift of wings for ‘Sogno di Volare’ and for all the young people who participate, a beautiful present given to us on her birthday. You are all invited to the show we will produce thanks to her generous donation and that will be performed in the ancient theatre of Pompeii in May 2025.”
