Lala Kent Opens Up About Scary Pregnancy Scare, Says It Was “Really Terrifying”
Lala Kent recently shared a harrowing moment from her second pregnancy that left her shaken and worried. The Vanderpump Rules star, 33, detailed the frightening episode during an episode of her podcast Give Them Lala.
Lala recounted a disturbing experience from a weekend party at her home. While showing a child her playroom, she suddenly felt her arms and legs go numb and struggled to breathe.
As she recalled, “I walked this little kid up the stairs to show him the playroom and all of a sudden my arms and legs went numb, and I could not breathe. And [it] took everything in me to not pass out and just make it to my bed.”
“And I was trying to yell for my mom, but again, I was really struggling, and I was very, very concerned,” she shared further.
Her mother managed to get her obstetrician on the phone as she tried to reposition herself, which eventually helped her regain her breath. The doctor’s reassurance came after Lala reported that her baby was still moving actively, easing the initial concern.
“[My obstetrician] asked me, ‘Is [the] baby moving?’ She was definitely active. I said [to the doctor], ‘She hasn’t stopped moving. And he was like, ‘Oh, okay, I’m less concerned now … she could be positioned weird,'” she recalled.
The doctor then reportedly advised her to reduce her daily activities and avoid staying on her feet.
Lala described the experience as “really terrifying” and admitted feeling a deep sense of guilt for her complaints about pregnancy discomfort.
“I felt this overwhelming amount of guilt because I’ve been complaining a lot about my [body] aching and just wanting it to be done,” she shared.
Since the incident, she has been managing better but still finds herself winded by simple activities like walking up stairs. Despite this, she continues to share her pregnancy journey with her followers.
On July 14, Lala celebrated her upcoming arrival with a baby shower attended by family, friends, and some of her Vanderpump Rules co-stars. She donned a dreamy tie-dye dress from Selkie, complete with a billowing skirt and puffy sleeves.
Lala, who used intrauterine insemination (IUI) for this pregnancy, has been keeping her fans updated on social media. In June, she shared an ultrasound photo of her second baby girl on Instagram, excitedly writing, “Baby S, we can’t wait to welcome you to our family.”
