Latto Responds to Accusations of Posting Doctored Photo of Coachella Crowd
Atlanta-based rapper Latto has responded to accusations that she posted a photoshopped photo of her performing at Coachella. Fans noticed that some individuals appeared multiple times in the photo and accused the artist of photoshopping the image to make it appear like the crowd was more than it actually was.
Latto, whose real name is Alyssa Michelle Stephens, responded on Instagram, stating that she had not photoshopped the crowd. Instead, the 24-year-old explained that she had expanded the photo so that it could fit into her Instagram swipe without getting cut off. According to her, she did not like the result she got so she decided not to use the photo only to later post it on Twitter by accident.
Latto also shared a video clip from her Coachella set to show her fans that the photo was not doctored. She was joined by Saweetie, Lola Brooke, and TiaCorine for “Bitch From Da Souf (Remix),” “Don’t Play Wit It,” and “Freaky T.”
“Haters will say it’s photoshopped,” she wrote.
This is not the first time that Latto has been a subject of controversy on social media. Earlier this year in January, a Twitter user accused her of wearing the same leopard-print underwear in two separate photos. The photos featured Latto in different outfits, but what appeared to be the same type of underwear was visible in both.
“Can’t afford new panties?” the user quizzed. While some echoed the user’s inquiry, her fans defended her, with one tweeting, “I truly hope I never let someone’s existence bother me to the point of monitoring what panties they wear.”
“Panties probably cost more than her life please don’t be playing with my fav” another wrote.
This time, the Big Energy star did not deny or confirm the allegations but rather took a more sarcastic approach.
“Oh no, it’s the panty police,” she tweeted in response. Latto later listed the underwear on eBay, and it was an agreement away from getting sold for almost $100,000 until the item got removed by the online retailer for violating health and hygiene standards.
Latto has risen to fame over the past few years with hit songs such as Big Energy and Lottery. She has been praised for her unique sound and relatable lyrics. Despite facing criticism on social media, the artist has ignored all forms of negativity and continues to connect with fans through her music and social media presence.
