Layla Taylor Has A New Man, And He’s Coming To Hulu!
Looks like love is in the air for The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star Layla Taylor — and she’s not keeping it a secret for long. At the Walt Disney Upfronts on May 13, Layla made a surprise announcement while standing beside her co-star Jessi Ngatikaura: there’s a new man in her life, and viewers will meet him in season two of the hit Hulu show.
“Season two, I have a boyfriend, so I’m excited to show that aspect of dating as a single mom, especially in Utah,” she shared.
And if you’re wondering what the Utah dating scene is like, Layla didn’t hold back. Laughing, she said, “The Utah dating scene is actually atrocious, so I’m excited to share that part of it with the audience and kind of have them see it.”
Layla’s love life has always come with an extra layer of complexity, and she’s okay with that. In a recent chat with PEOPLE, she explained why dating as a single mom is far from simple. “Because I’m not just dating for myself,” she shared. “I am dating to potentially find somebody that would be a stepfather to my children, so it’s super important to find the perfect guy.”
The reality star shares two sons, Oliver and Max, with ex Clayton Wessel, and says that co-parenting is a huge part of her dating decisions. “I’m still prioritizing my ex, not prioritizing him, but making sure that he’s still involved in decisions,” she explained.
She’s also thinking ahead. What happens if her new partner wants kids of his own? Layla admits she’s still figuring that part out too. In her words: “So definitely I have to think of a lot of things that you don’t have to think about when you don’t have kids, but I think it helps me weed out a lot of bad guys, which is a positive.”
So, who is the mystery boyfriend? Layla isn’t naming names just yet, but she’s definitely letting the cameras roll. Season two promises to dive deeper into her personal life and her new romance – all under the bright lights of Utah’s reality TV scene.
