Madonna Expresses Gratitude For Support After Hospitalization For Serious Infection
Madonna recently shared an update with her fans after a challenging health scare that led to her hospitalization. The 64-year-old music legend expressed her gratitude for the outpouring of support she received during her recovery.
In an Instagram post, Madonna sincerely thanked her fans for their unwavering support, positive energy, prayers, and words of healing and encouragement. She acknowledged feeling their love and expressed immense appreciation for the blessings in her life.
“I have felt your love. I’m on the road to recovery and incredibly grateful for all the blessings in my life,” she stated.
According to Madonna, her children were her first thoughts upon waking up in the hospital, followed closely by her concern for disappointing those who had purchased tickets for her tour.
“My first thought when I woke up in the hospital was my children. My second thought was that I did not want to disappointment anyone who bought tickets for my tour. I also didn’t want to let down the people who worked tirelessly with me over the last few months to create my show. I hate to disappoint anyone,” she wrote.
While focusing on her health and regaining strength, Madonna assured her fans that she would return as soon as possible. She outlined the current plan to reschedule the North American leg of her tour, with a tentative start date in Europe in October.
“I couldn’t be more grateful for your care and support. Love, M,” she wrote in conclusion.
The announcement of Madonna’s hospitalization came from her longtime manager, Guy Oseary, in a heartfelt Instagram post on June 28. Guy explained that Madonna had developed a serious bacterial infection, which required a stay in the ICU. Although her health was improving, Madonna still required medical care and needed to pause all commitments, including the tour.
Fortunately, Madonna’s condition improved, and she returned home the next day, as confirmed by PEOPLE. A source close to the Grammy winner revealed that she was feeling better and diligently following her doctors’ orders, prioritizing rest and recovery. Throughout this challenging time, Madonna’s children — Lourdes, Rocco, David, Mercy, and twins Stella and Estere — have been a source of unwavering support, according to an insider.
While Madonna’s desire to get back on tour remains strong, her current focus is on regaining her strength. The resumption of her tour is merely a matter of time, and her fans can anticipate an exceptional concert experience when she returns to the stage.
According to sources close to the singer, her health issue may have resulted from her efforts to make her highly anticipated Celebration Tour memorable with a series of thrilling shows. In the lead-up to her hospitalization, she had reportedly been tirelessly rehearsing, possibly neglecting her health in the process.
“She ignored some symptoms of illness for quite a while because she thought they would go away. But she didn’t want to take time away from rehearsals,” a source revealed.
