Mariah Carey Reveals She Doesn’t Own Sneakers
Mariah Carey made a quite surprising revelation on The Jennifer Hudson Show when she revealed she does not own any pair of sneakers. During her appearance, she discussed her fashion choices, revealing a preference for heels over sneakers.
Host and singer Jennifer had asked Mariah about the most casual item of clothing in her closet. She humorously responded, “Probably some hideous slides that someone made me purchase.”
She then added, “Because I don’t own sneakers.”
While this might seem unusual as sneakers are a go-to choice for comfort and practicality, Mariah has her reasons. “Because I get a blister on the back of my foot,” she explained.
Jennifer then went on to ask Mariah if she truly prefers heels over sneakers and her response was even more intriguing. “Well, that’s the problem, heels hurt too. So I don’t really know what to do,” she said.
“I bet you could get around better in the heels?” Jennifer asked, with Mariah confirming that its easier for her as she walks on her toes, a habit she’s had for as long as she can remember.
“I’ve always done that. So it’s kind of a thing…I wear slippers!”
While surprising, Mariah’s revelation sounds plausible as she is known for her glamorous looks, even in unexpected places. In 2017, she made headlines by hitting the gym in stilettos, proving that she truly doesn’t own sneakers.
In an Instagram post shared by Rihanna, the All I Want For Christmas Is You singer was spotted at the gym wearing Savage x Fenty, Rihanna’s clothing brand. What caught everyone’s eye was her choice of white leather bootie stilettos to complete the look.
Recently, she brought her signature glamor to a Christmas-themed photo shoot for her Victoria’s Secret campaign. Showing off candy-cane-red-colored items and exuding both coziness and playfulness, she told Vogue, “It really felt like holiday glamor when I put it on.”
“I like that the different pieces I wore have different vibes to them—some are cozy and festive, and others are more sexy and playful,” she also said.
But Mariah’s talents extend beyond fashion. She’s back in the studio, working on new music. In an interview with Good Morning America, she shared, “I’ve been working the past three, four weeks on just writing new songs.” She even hinted at a collaboration with a choir, teasing fans with the prospect of fresh, exciting music.
