Megan Thee Stallion Faces Lawsuit From Former Cameraman Over Allegations Of Harassment And Unpaid Wages
Emilio Garcia, the personal cameraman for Megan Thee Stallion, has filed a lawsuit against the rapper, claiming she created a hostile work environment. In the complaint filed on Monday, Emilio alleges that Megan subjected him to sexual harassment, fat-shaming, and failure to pay him properly, violating labor codes.
The lawsuit recounts an incident during a tour in Ibiza, Spain, where Megan and another woman engaged in sexual activity beside Emilio while they were in a moving SUV. Emilio felt embarrassed and offended but was unable to leave the car as they were in a foreign country.
The following day, Megan reportedly instructed Emilio not to discuss what he had witnessed.
As written in the filing, “On or around June 2022, plaintiff was traveling on tour with Stallion in Ibiza, Spain. After a night out, plaintiff, Stallion, and three other women were riding in a SUV together. Suddenly, Stallion and one of the other women start having sex right beside plaintiff. Plaintiff could not get out of the car as it was both moving and he was in the middle of nowhere in a foreign country. Plaintiff was embarrassed, mortified and offended throughout the whole ordeal. The following day, Stallion inquired whether the plaintiff was in the SUV the previous night. Plaintiff confirmed that he was in the SUV. Subsequently, Stallion instructed, ‘Don’t ever discuss what you saw.’”
The suit also alleges that Megan directed fat-shaming comments towards Emilio, including derogatory remarks about his weight and eating habits.
“Stallion berated and directed her fat-shaming comments towards plaintiff such as ‘Fat bitch,’ ‘Spit your food out,’ and ‘You don’t need to be eating,'” the filing states.
According to the lawsuit, Emilio began working with Megan in 2018 but was not provided essential healthcare, proper wages, or overtime pay. He claims he was overworked and denied breaks for rest and meals. Garcia was terminated in 2023 and believes it was in retaliation for his complaints.
The lawsuit seeks damages for unpaid wages, interest, employee benefits, and legal fees. Emilio’s attorney, Ron Zambrano, emphasizes the need for accountability from Megan and condemns her alleged behavior as illegal.
Megan’s attorney, Alex Spiro, has responded to the lawsuit, stating that it’s primarily an employment claim for money, with no sexual harassment claim filed. Alex dismisses the accusations as an attempt to embarrass Megan and assures they will address the matter in court.
This legal battle comes after Megan settled a dispute with her former record label, 1501 Certified Entertainment, in October. Both parties reached a confidential settlement, with 1501 CEO Carl Crawford expressing satisfaction with the outcome and wishing Megan success in her future endeavors.
Despite the legal challenges, Megan continues to focus on her music career. She recently released the single Cobra under her independent music and entertainment entity, Hot Girl Productions, and announced her first headlining tour, the Hot Girl Summer tour, set to kick off later this year.
