Megan Thee Stallion Promises 500 Outfit Changes As She Hosts The 2024 MTV VMAs
Megan Thee Stallion is ready to make a splash at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards, and she’s bringing her signature style, energy, and, apparently, hundreds of outfits to the big night.
In an exclusive interview, the 29-year-old rapper shared her excitement for hosting the VMAs, a role that’s all about celebrating the year’s hottest music and artists. “I’m excited to change clothes 500 times,” Megan joked, referring to her plans for an over-the-top fashion experience. “I’m excited to perform. I’m excited to see all the Hotties.”
The Houston native couldn’t hide her enthusiasm about returning to New York City, saying, “I love New York, I can’t wait to be there again and eat all the food, and I’m excited for people to see what I bring to the table while hosting.”
Last month, MTV announced that Megan would be taking on the coveted hosting gig for this year’s ceremony, following in the footsteps of Nicki Minaj, who hosted the past two years. Megan, already a Grammy winner and one of the most influential names in music, is nominated for five awards this year. These include best collaboration for her hit Wanna Be with GloRilla, as well as nods for best hip-hop, best visual effects, best direction, and best art direction for her song Boa.
Megan’s excitement isn’t just limited to hosting the VMAs. She’s also celebrating her recent partnership with Pepsi, starring in her first-ever ad campaign for the soda giant. The commercial features NFL stars like Travis Kelce and Josh Allen and is just another step in Megan’s rise to becoming a true icon in the industry.
“I’m like, ‘OK, now you all better stop acting like I’m not famous around here because I’m doing all the things,’” she said with a laugh, adding, “This is going to be so iconic, and it’s going to be great. I can’t wait for everybody to see it.”
The 2024 MTV VMAs are shaping up to be an unforgettable night. Taylor Swift leads the nominations with a whopping 10, while Post Malone follows closely with nine. Big names like Sabrina Carpenter, Eminem, and Ariana Grande also received several nods.
The night will honor Katy Perry with the prestigious Video Vanguard Award, and she’s set to perform a medley of her greatest hits alongside some fresh tracks from her upcoming album, 143. Other performers include Eminem, Anitta, GloRilla, Camila Cabello,, and many more, making it a night jam-packed with star power.
The 2024 MTV VMAs will be broadcast live from the UBS Arena in New York on Sept. 11 at 8 p.m. ET, and with Megan Thee Stallion at the helm, fans can expect an unforgettable show filled with jaw-dropping moments.
