Meghan Trainor Reveals She Used Weight Loss Drugs

Meghan Trainor isn’t here for the body shaming. The Made You Look singer, 31, recently opened up about her body transformation and the criticism she’s faced, setting the record straight in an Instagram post on March 31.
Sharing stunning shots from the 2025 Billboard Women in Music Awards, where she was honored as a Hitmaker, Meghan spoke from the heart. She admitted it was “a little disheartening” that many questions and comments focused on her body instead of her music, passion, and decade of hard work. But Meghan didn’t hold back, diving into her journey to become the healthiest, strongest version of herself — not just for her, but for her kids.
“Yes, I used science and support (shoutout to Mounjaro!) to help me after my 2nd pregnancy. And I’m so glad I did because I feel great,” Meghan wrote in her post.
Mounjaro, a medication originally for Type 2 diabetes, was approved by the FDA for weight loss in 2023. Meghan credited it, along with working with a dietician, making lifestyle changes, and training hard. She and her husband, actor Daryl Sabara, welcomed their second son, Barry Bruce, in July 2023. They’re also proud parents to son Riley, born in February 2021.
Meghan made it clear that her transformation wasn’t just about losing weight but about taking control of her health and happiness. “I’ve been on a journey to be the healthiest, strongest version of myself for my kids and for me,” she shared. She also dropped some wise words: “Here’s to celebrating talent, growth, and the power of putting yourself first. Let’s keep shifting the convo to what REALLY matters.”
Daryl Sabara didn’t waste time backing his wife up, reposting her message on Instagram Stories and calling her “My hero,” with a red heart emoji.
During the musical event over the weekend, Meghan told Entertainment Tonight that she’s “trying all the things.” She confessed that, for years, she’d been working out the wrong way — too much cardio left her body inflamed and always aching. Now, she’s focused on “biohacking” her body to slow down the aging process. “So anything that’ll help me age backward, I’m into it,” she joked, revealing she’s a fan of NADs supplements. “I just learned about the NADs… I was like, ‘Make me Hailey Bieber, I’ll do it, I’ll take it!’” she stated. “I’m trying all the things. I love a doctor explaining stuff to me.”
On the red carpet, she urged women everywhere to be kinder to themselves. “Breathe, take a deep breath,” she told PEOPLE. “Go easy on yourself, be kinder to yourself or try… if you’re not there yet, start doing that because you have to rewire your brain.”
She’s been working on her mindset in therapy, describing it as a constant process: “It’s like cleaning your house. It’s gonna get messy again and then you have to clean it again. And like working on the gym, you gotta go back or else you’ll lose it all.”
