Miley Cyrus And Flavor Flav Go Over Funny Mix-Up At 2024 Grammy Awards
Miley Cyrus, the globally renowned singer, shared a heartwarming and amusing moment with Flavor Flav, the legendary rapper, at the 2024 Grammy Awards. The incident, captured on social media, revealed the bond between these two musicians and added a touch of humor to the prestigious event.
In a video that surfaced from backstage at the Grammys, Flavor, 64, called out to Miley, 31, after her performance of Flowers. As she walked over to greet him with a hug, the Flowers singer couldn’t help but playfully tease him. “You know it’s me! I made it,” she exclaimed, standing beside her mom, Tish.
Miley went on to remind Flavor of the past, saying, “You don’t think I’m Gwen Stefani anymore. You used to call me Gwen every time I saw you.” Flavor admitted to the mix-up, but the songstress reassured him with a smile, saying, “I love it.”
The two then exchanged affectionate “I love you”s, and Miley couldn’t resist pointing out Flavor’s iconic clock necklace, joking, “You know what time it is!”
Flavor later took to social media to banter about the situation, writing, “My girl Gwen Stefani,,, I mean MILEY CYRUS @MileyCyrus Give My Girl her FLOWERS.”
This isn’t the first time Miley and Flavor have crossed paths. They have previously met at events like the 2012 iHeartRadio Music Festival and VH1’s Big in ’06 broadcast, showcasing their enduring friendship and camaraderie.
At the 2024 Grammy Awards, Miley achieved a significant milestone by winning two Grammy awards. She received the awards for Best Pop Solo Performance and Record of the Year, both for her hit song Flowers, which dominated the Billboard Hot 100 for eight consecutive weeks in the previous year.
The Party In The U.S.A. singer also graced the stage with a memorable performance of the disco-pop track during the ceremony.
During her acceptance speech for Record of the Year, which honors the overall production of a song, she expressed her gratitude to her loved ones and the viewers watching at home. She said, “This award is amazing. But I really hope that it doesn’t change anything because my life was beautiful yesterday. Not everyone in the world will get a Grammy, but everyone in this world is spectacular.”
She continued with a lighthearted remark, “So please don’t think that this is important, even though it’s very important, right guys?”
Miley went on to thank her team and the people who have been instrumental in her journey. She concluded her speech with a playful quip, “I don’t think I forgot anyone. But I might have forgotten underwear. Bye!” Notably, her speech did not include a mention of her father, Billy Ray Cyrus.
Flowers triumphed in the Record of the Year category, beating tough competition, including Taylor Swift’s Anti-Hero, Billie Eilish’s What Was I Made For?, SZA’s Kill Bill, boygenius’ Not Strong Enough, Olivia Rodrigo’s vampire, Jon Batiste’s Worship, and Victoria Monét’s On My Mama.
