Miley Cyrus Clarifies Stance on Touring: “Connected to Fans Now More Than Ever”
After raising eyebrows with her recent interview in British Vogue, Miley Cyrus took to social media to clarify her comments about touring. The pop star, known for her electrifying stage presence, expressed her reluctance to embark on a large-scale tour, citing a lack of connection with her fans. However, Miley, 30, reassured her followers that her love for them remains strong and that she is constantly exploring new ways to maintain that connection.
In her statement titled “A message from Miley,” which she shared on Instagram and Twitter, Miley addressed the concerns raised by her fans. “For clarity, I feel connected to my fans NOW more than ever,” she began. “When I win, we win. Even if I don’t see them face to face every night at a concert, my fans are felt deeply in my heart.”
She went on to explain that while touring has been one of the most cherished aspects of her career, it comes at a personal cost. She mentioned the demanding lifestyle that accompanies it, expressing her desire to prioritize her own well-being at this stage in her life. “Performing for YOU has been some of the best days of my life, and we will continue this journey together as we have for the last almost two decades,” she assured her fans.
The artist shed light on the practical challenges of touring, emphasizing the toll it takes on her physically and emotionally. “This has nothing to do with a lack of appreciation for the fans and everything to do with me simply not wanting to get ready in a locker room,” Miley admitted, adding, “Which is the reality of life on the road.”
The Flowers singer also humorously touched on the difficulties of maintaining her unique style while constantly on the move. “These looks I’ve been turning don’t travel well,” she quipped. “The archival looks don’t fold.”
While she has made up her mind about not embarking on a full-scale world tour for her latest album, Endless Summer Vacation, she left the door open for her feelings to change in the future.
“If you’ve been following my career, you know that I always change, and the way I feel about that could too,” she confessed. She concluded her statement with a heartfelt message to her devoted fan base, expressing her enduring love and gratitude.
Miley’s decision not to tour extensively for Endless Summer Vacation marks a departure from her previous albums, where she embarked on full-fledged tours to support her music.
The decision clearly has nothing to do with the success of the album as it debuted at an impressive number three on the US Billboard 200, becoming Miley’s 14th top-10 album.
