Miley Cyrus Not on Good Terms with Her Father, Whose New Lover is Younger Than Miley

Billy Ray Cyrus and Tish Cyrus were married for close to 30 years, having five children together. Six months after the divorce was filed, Billy Ray Cyrus has now sparked rumors that he’s engaged to someone else–someone nearly four decades younger than him.

This isn’t the first time the celebrity couple has split, but it does appear to be the last, with Tish citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for her filing for divorce. The two had been living separately since February of 2020. A source told E! News that the divorce of Miley’s parents has put a strain on her relationship with her father, but that she is still close to her mother and on good terms with her.

Now, it seems that it will be even harder for Miley’s father to repair their relationship, as he’s preoccupied with Australian singer Firerose. On October 18, Billy Ray Cyrus posted a few photos of the two together, with the caption simply being “Happy Autumn.” But, it’s not hard to see a pretty big diamond ring, estimated to be worth around $220K, on a special finger.

Firerose can be seen wearing the ring in some photos from last month as well, which sparked rumors too. But Billy Ray’s post seems to confirm everything. The two released a song together called “New Day” last year, but they’ve been acquainted for longer than one year.

In fact, the two first met each other on the set of Miley’s iconic show, Hannah Montana, ten years ago. Firerose , whose real name is Johanna Rosie Hodges, says that “since then, he’s been a phenomenal supporter of my music… He’s just really believed in me and continued to tell me to pursue my dreams no matter what and not give up. The music industry is not easy, but he’s been a really, really incredible support.”

The two began collaborating with music at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic over Zoom. Billy Ray Cyrus was fond of her talents, saying, “Firerose is the very definition of persistence, combined with a tremendous amount of talent as a songsmith, vocalist, and producer. Her persistence has paid off, she’s getting her chance. That’s all you can ever ask for in this business. She earned it. She never gave up. I admire that.”

It’s unclear when exactly the couple’s romantic relationship began, all we know is that they have stayed in touch since Firerose was around the age of 14 on the set of Billy Ray’s daughter’s show. The couple seems to be happy, and a source says that Miley does not have a relationship with her father’s fiance but hopes that they are happy together.
