Mission Beyonce! Bringing Beyoncé To The BRIT Awards 2023
After Beyoncé’s successful comeback with her performance in Dubai, music executives and bosses are now on a mission to get her to next month’s BRIT Awards.
Beyoncé proved that her four-year hiatus did not affect her all-out performance when she performed at the launch of Dubai’s newest ultra-luxury hotel last Saturday. She performed some of her hit songs, Halo, Naughty Girl, and XO, at the Atlantis, The Royal Hotel.
Serious high-level discussions are being held among Sony executives and the singer’s team to bid Beyoncé to perform on February 11 at London’s O2 venue. Beyoncé has been nominated for two gongs this year, including the much-coveted International Artist of the Year.
Getting Beyoncé onboard for the music festival is a sure boost for the award show. The BRIT awards team knows that Beyoncé’s performance that night can make all the difference to the awarding ceremony.
One of the sources working closely with the planning confirmed the recent serious conversations about Beyoncé doing a live performance on the 11th. The world’s biggest star singing and dancing live would be an amazing addition to the event.
This is not the first time that Beyoncé will be in attendance at this European award ceremony. Even so, she will also have the chance to reconnect with her European fans and reaffirm her presence there. If the plans push through, it will be a key moment for both Beyoncé and the Brit awarding organization.
Shedding some light on the calendar of events, it was revealed that the more significant acts performed at the awards ceremony are often finalized several days before the event. So, deals and talks are ongoing now, and it’s a two-edged sword, with some performances not pushing through while others are surprising commitments at the last minute. Everything can go haywire in the days leading up to the big day.
A source said, “There’s been a big push to get her to the ceremony, and for her to perform would be the absolute dream scenario. The ceremony schedule is locked down, so if Beyoncé were to perform, there would need to be a shake-up, but it’s more likely she will be there as a guest.”
Comedian Mo Gilligan will present this year’s Brits. This will be his second year presenting. Performances from Stormzy, Lizzo, and Harry Styles have also been confirmed and included in the lineup.
The BRITs are now preparing for the final star performer of the evening and expect to make an announcement later this week.
Lizzo is nominated for the International Artist of the Year award and International Song of the Year for her hit song About Damn Time. Beyoncé is also nominated for both categories.
It came as a surprise that Beyoncé did not perform any songs from her most recent Renaissance album during her performance last week in Dubai. Some conclude that this is her team’s strategy to build anticipation and momentum for when she decides to sing her latest music live.
There’s also talk that Beyoncé is set to go on a Renaissance tour this summer after speculation that she has booked out several stadiums for some shows.
