Nicola Peltz Addresses Family Feud Rumors With Victoria Beckham
There’s a new Mrs. Beckham in town. According to the rumor mill, the original Mrs. Beckham isn’t too happy about it.
Nicola Peltz-Beckham wedded David and Victoria’s oldest son, Brooklyn, earlier this year at the Petlz’s multi-million dollar property in Florida. Ever since there has been gossip about an alleged feud between the Transformer’s actress and her mother-in-law.
In an interview with Variety magazine, their son finally addressed these rumors. Based on the interview, Brooklyn believes that all the hubbub began when his new wife Nicola wore a Valentino gown for her wedding instead of a Victoria Beckham original.
Nicola also addressed the issue for the first time by saying, “I was going to and I really wanted to, and then a few months down the line, she realized that her atelier couldn’t do it, so then I had to pick another dress.”
“She didn’t say you can’t wear it; I didn’t say I didn’t want to wear it. That’s where it started, and then they ran with that,” Nicola explained.
Her new husband summarily dismissed the malicious rumors as he stated, “I’ve learned they’re always going to try to write stuff like that. They’re always going to try and put people down. But everyone gets along, which is good.”
In the meantime, Nicola took to Instagram to share an emotional sentiment. “Sometimes I find it hard to show the sad bits of me,” she wrote. “Growing up with seven siblings and two very strong parents made me really tough. They hammered it into me to not let people bring me down or hurt my heart. It made me put such a wall up to protect myself, especially in this industry.”
“We all have days where people make you feel bad and it’s okay to be hurt by it,” she continued. “I just thought I would write something because I never show this side of me here. I wanted to show this side of me. I love you all so much and truly appreciate all of your support. It means so much when you guys are kind on my page. I want you to know I see you, I hear you, and it means a lot to me,” her post concluded.
Could it have been in reference to the alleged tiff with her mother-in-law? Though we’ll never know for sure, Victoria Beckham’s happiness at their wedding announcement was evident to all.
In a December 2020 interview, she shared, “He’s so happy, they’re both so happy. She’s just wonderful. She’s sweet. She’s kind. She’s such a lovely, warm, wonderful, wonderful woman and we could not have asked for Brooklyn to meet a more adorable, lovely lady.”
“The thing that’s great about us, is that we don’t need anything from each other. We’re just so in love. There’s nothing I need from him or he needs from me,” said Nicola to Variety.
With so many reassurances from Nicola and the Beckhams, it seems like everyone is feud-free and satisfied. At the very least, it will be nice to see these petty rumors put to rest!
