“Not Sure I’d Be Alive If I Wasn’t a Dad”: Bradley Cooper Opens Up About The Importance Of Fatherhood
In a recent episode of Dax Shepard’s Armchair Expert podcast, Hollywood actor Bradley Cooper, 49, discussed the profound impact of fatherhood on his life. Bradley, best known for his roles in films like The Maestro, revealed that his relationship with his 6-year-old daughter, Lea, is the cornerstone of his existence.
“Being a parent? Honestly, I’m not sure I’d be alive if I wasn’t a dad. I don’t know,” Bradley shared with Dax, underscoring the significance of fatherhood in shaping his identity and purpose.
Reflecting on the influence of parental relationships, Bradley expressed contemplation about the future romantic endeavors of his daughter, acknowledging the pivotal role he plays in shaping her perceptions of intimacy and love.
Asked if he has considered the possibility of his daughter growing up to marry someone like him, he responded, “I think about that a lot, in terms of how does my relationship with my daughter impact her growth and the journey that she’s going to be on? And specifically romantically in life, wherever intimacy finds her.”
Contrasting his own upbringing with his daughter’s experience, Bradley emphasized the depth of his bond with Lea, marveling at the significant time he invests in nurturing their relationship.
“I’ve clocked that she’s going to be 7 in March. You know my relationship with my dad, [I didn’t ] spend a lot of time with him. I think I’ve already logged more hours with my daughter than I did with my dad his entire life. So that alone is bonkers,” he stated, recognizing the transformative nature of his active fatherhood.
In addition to the joy of spending quality time together, Cooper cherished the profound conversations he shares with Lea, marveling at her ability to express herself at such a young age. He also expressed gratitude for the privilege of witnessing his daughter’s emotional intelligence blossom under his guidance.
