Paget Brewster On Aging: “It’s Okay I’m Getting Older Naturally”
Paget Brewster is breaking the mold of aging conventions in Hollywood with a candidness that is refreshing, well, as natural as it gets. On Sept. 15, Criminal Minds star Paget Brewster shared a heartfelt post on X, formerly known as Twitter, reflecting on growing older.
“I’m discovering it’s okay I’m getting older naturally. That’s a tough choice in Hollywood,” she captioned a casual, gray-toned selfie showing her hair pulled back. It is never easy to stick with natural aging in an industry where your youth means practically everything to you, and Paget is being true to herself.
The actress, popular for the shows Criminal Minds and Friends, confessed that as tempting as it might be to be someone else, she is truly thankful for her life. “I’m just glad I’m alive and have friends and family. I love the films & actors I love,” she said, continuing in a humorous tone, “I saw a Batman at a party and he was OLDER, but I was smitten and excited just the same.
Fans were not late in rallying around her candidness, with one even playfully going as far as to say, “My [girlfriend] says you look like a sexy witch,” to which Paget, quick as always with a quip, responded, “All I ever wanted was to be a sexy witch. It’s my bone structure. I thank you.”
Another commenter spoke of their struggles with growing older and praised the actress for her bravery: “Don’t listen to anyone who says you are less than stunning. I realize that when I am able to shut out society’s opinion on women getting older, I actually like the way I look better. My gray hair, the smile lines in my face. We are beautiful, and don’t you forget it.”
Paget was moved by the support and responded, “Babe you are where we all want to be. I salute and hug you.”
This isn’t the first Paget has spoken her mind about aging. In July, she stated that while she was comfortable looking naturally good, she would sometimes get close to cosmetic surgery. “I’m pretty happy about how I look without surgery, but I also get tempted to ‘be prettier.’ Lip injections, Botox, but IDK if I could really do it,” she tweeted.
Paget even said, “I kinda like my face. And I fear neck surgery. Maybe I want your support. I love you guys.”
Known for her role in Friends as part of the Joey-Chandler love triangle, Paget has been vocal about her choice to age without interference. In one post, she wrote, “It’s hard getting older and not doing injections or surgery, but I choose that.”
“I’m older. I’m still hard working, inquisitive, and sexy. Very sexy,” she declared, owning her age and authentic self.
