Paris Hilton Heartbroken After Losing Malibu Home In Devastating Wildfire
Paris Hilton is reeling after losing her Malibu home to the raging Pacific Palisades fire. The 43-year-old businesswoman and activist shared the heartbreaking news with her followers on Wednesday, January 8, revealing that she watched the tragedy unfold live on television.
“Heartbroken beyond words,” Paris wrote in an emotional Instagram post. “Sitting with my family, watching the news, and seeing our home in Malibu burn to the ground on live TV is something no one should ever have to experience.”
The post featured footage from ABC 7, showing a reporter surveying the devastation along the Pacific Coast Highway. Paris explained the personal impact of the loss, saying, “This home was where we built so many precious memories. It’s where Phoenix took his first steps and where we dreamed of building a lifetime of memories with London.”
The Simple Life star became a mother to son Phoenix Barron Hilton Reum in January 2023 and welcomed daughter London Marilyn Hilton Reum in November 2023, both via surrogate.
Despite her grief, Paris expressed gratitude that her family is safe, acknowledging the far-reaching impact of the fires. “My heart and prayers are going out to every family affected by these fires. To all the people who have lost their homes, their memories, and their beloved pets. My heart aches for those still in harm’s way or mourning greater losses,” she wrote.
Paris also announced that her 11:11 Media Impact Team has started working with nonprofit organizations to support those affected. “We’re committed to offering help as soon as possible and making a meaningful difference for those who need it most,” she stated.
The star took a moment to thank firefighters and first responders, calling them “true heroes” for risking their lives to protect others. She urged her followers to stay safe, follow evacuation orders, and remain hopeful. “Let’s protect one another and hold onto hope that these fires will soon be contained. … Hug your loved ones a little tighter tonight. You never know when everything could change.”
Paris’s mother, Kathy Hilton, showed her support in the comments, posting a string of hearts and prayer emojis, along with tearful faces.
The Pacific Palisades fire is now being described as the most destructive in Los Angeles County history. According to the Associated Press, over 11,800 acres have been burned, and the fire remains at 0% containment. Tragically, the death toll has risen to five.
