Pete Davidson Insists His Romance Record Isn’t So Broad, Reveals He Has Dated Ten Women In 12 Years
In an attempt to redeem his less-than-noble reputation when it comes to romantic relationships, Pete Davidson has revealed that he has not dated that many people. Speaking on the Real Ones with Jon Bernthal podcast released Thursday, the comedian shared some insight into his dating life.
Pete believes that his reputation as Hollywood’s casanova is not due to excessive dating on his part but because his relationships are high profile and highly publicized.
“Look, I’m in my 20s and I’ve dated people and for some reason that is very crazy and interesting to people,” he started.
“I don’t think it’s that interesting. I’ve been in show business for half my life almost, for like 14, 15 years, and on a national TV show. And in 12 years, I’ve dated like 10 people, I don’t really think that’s that crazy,” he added.
The 29-year-old says he is confused as to how his reputation came about, as he does not flaunt his dating life on social media.
Speaking about how he connects with the women he has been with, he clears up thoughts that he targets them. According to him, work linked him with all the people he dated.
“These people that I’ve dated, like I’ve met them at work. Like, I wasn’t in anyone’s DMs, no one was in mine. …I worked at one of the five Hollywood epicenters where you meet people. And that’s just who I was working with and who I was around.”
The Saturday Night Life star has been romantically connected with a number of celebrities, including Kim Kardashian, Ariana Grande, Emily Ratajkowski, Margaret Qualley, Kate Beckinsale, Kaia Gerber, Cazzie David, and Phoebe Dynevor.
Pete’s relationship with Ariana made it to the engagement level after the two began dating in May 2018 following an appearance by Ariana on an episode of Saturday Night Live in 2016. The engagement would, however, only last a few months as the two announced they were no longer together about five months later. Pete would later be mentioned in Ariana’s hit song, “Thank You, Next.”
Right before he started dating Ariana, Pete was in a relationship with Cazzie, Comedian Larry David’s daughter. That relationship, which lasted two years, ended abruptly, with Cazzie later revealing that Pete broke up via text.
Moving on from Ariana, Pete pivoted to Kate, who is twenty years older than he is. That relationship, too, did not last long, even though Pete said the age gap was never a problem.
After Kate came Margaret, even though that romance didn’t seem deep and only went on for a combined period of two months. Moving on from Margaret, Pete started to see Kaia, who is Cindy Crawford’s daughter, in late 2019. That romance also ended up being super swift and ended after three months in January 2020.
The actor then went on to Bridgerton actress Phoebe in 2021. While a source close to him hinted that he might be serious about his newfound love at the time, the romance didn’t last the third quarter of the year as the couple couldn’t work through the long distance.
In October 2021, Pete caused an uproar when he and Kim Kardashian kissed during her hosting debut on SNL. The romance appeared closely knit as the couple went on private outings together throughout the rest of the year. In 2022, they went red carpet official, and Pete later made an appearance on The Kardashians. Despite the loved-up stance the two gave off, they split in August 2022, with reports citing their work schedules as the reason for their breakup.
Months after his split from Kim, Pete, and Emily got together in a swift but sweet romance that died down in about two months. Now, he is reportedly romantically involved with Sui, his co-star in Bodies Bodies Bodies. While there have been multiple reported sightings of the two kissing and displaying affection, the two have denied the existence of any romance between them.
