Peter Weber Is Still Searching For Love But Staying Competitive In The Meantime
Peter Weber is still waiting for the right woman to come into his life, but that doesn’t mean he’s slowing down. The former Bachelor star, 33, says he has faith that love will happen when the time is right.
“You can’t ever force it, but I have faith in due time that’ll work out,” Peter tells PEOPLE while discussing his participation in P&G’s Battle of the Paddles tournament, presented by Lowe’s. “I never lost faith, so I know it’ll happen soon, and I’m just enjoying the journey along the way.”
Fans first met Peter on Hannah Brown’s season of The Bachelorette before he became The Bachelor himself five years ago. He ended his season engaged to Hannah Ann Sluss, but their relationship ended before the finale aired. After that, he had an on-and-off romance with Bachelor contestant Kelley Flanagan until April 2023.
As for dating now, Peter is open to meeting someone from the reality TV world, but it’s not a requirement. “Really it’s just the person that I’m looking to truly connect with and bond with. I think there are pros for sure to each side for sure. There’s definitely a comfort and a familiarity with someone that’s kind of been through that, but also someone that has zero idea about it and is completely removed from it it’s also kind of refreshing,” he shared.
When it comes to his ideal partner, Peter says he wants someone with “a kind heart, an adventurous spirit,” and “someone close to family.” More than anything, he’s looking for someone who makes him feel at peace.
For now, his Valentine’s Day plans are looking pretty low-key. Instead of a romantic dinner, he’ll be in Denver for his annual airline training. “…I actually end up getting back late that night. I have no plans as of right now,” the pilot shares. “I have no plans as of right now.”
Before that, though, he’ll be celebrating Super Bowl weekend in New Orleans by competing in Battle of the Paddles — a table tennis tournament where he’ll face off against NFL players.
“I have grown up a diehard NFL fan ever since I was 10 years old. I became a diehard Seattle Seahawks fan,” Peter shares. “I actually started playing table tennis back in high school with my high school football team. I never thought I’d be playing with NFL stars one day, but it’s kind of a dream to come true. To be able to get an opportunity to come and play with guys I’ve watched for a while is super exciting.”
One matchup he’s hoping for? Dallas Cowboys star Micah Parsons. Not just because he wants a good game, but because he has a bigger plan in mind.
“I’m going to do my damn best to try to recruit him. If he truly wants the most insane environment in the NFL to rush the quarterback, nothing compares like the 12th man up at Lumen Field,” Peter says with a laugh.
Peter, who even has a Seahawks tattoo on his finger, insists he’ll “play it cool” when he meets Micah, but he’ll definitely be selling him on Seattle. “I’ll 100% be my true self and I’m a diehard 12, so I’ll try my best to make it happen,” he says.
And while he’s not going to trash talk too much, Peter is ready to bring his competitive spirit to the tournament. “I’m sure these guys are very, very good. They’re professional athletes for a reason,” he says. “But I am damn competitive, and everyone will see that. I’ll 100% give it my all. So we’ll see what happens.”
