Petition Banning Katie Price From Owning Any Pet After Several Animal Deaths Under Her Care Reaches 30K
A Change.org petition was started three years ago calling for Katie Price to be banned from owning any animal. As of today, it has already reached 30,000 signatures.
The ban was proposed after numerous reports came out of different pets dying while under Katie’s care. The 44-year-old model faced several tragedies in the last six years, with several of her dogs, a horse, and a chameleon dying.
However, her pets’ deaths seemed to have led to no changes in how they were being treated or cared for.
Although the petition started several years ago, it has recently resurfaced after Katie’s dog Sharon’s death last November, gaining double its initial 10k signatures.
The critics behind the petition made powerful accusations against Katie, stating that her pets died due to lack of care and that the animals lived in an unsanitary environment. One claim even said that her pets are trained to attack and hurt other animals and people.
The November update posted by the people behind the petition stated, “A puppy has died in the last 24 hours in Katie Price’s care. She bought this puppy for her 13-year-old child three weeks ago. Which was killed in an accident no one witnessed.”
Furthermore, the petitioners explained that more animals died in the last five years due to neglect and lack of care. From horses, dogs, cats, lizards, and hedgehogs, they believe this is not just an isolated tragedy because it has become a norm in Katie’s home.
Citing examples, the group mentioned two dogs being run over and puppies drowning in Katie’s pool because of neglect. Katie’s horse was also run over on a motorway.
“Animals just go missing in her home never to been seen again.”
Additionally, the news that Katie’s guard dog broke into a neighbor’s garden and killed their chickens also raised questions and was another reason why Katie shouldn’t be allowed to have any animals under her care.
The conditions in which animals were living on Katie’s property were also described as unsafe and unsanitary.
“Cat poo with mold growing on it. Dog poo just left on the floor. Clothes dumped all over the place. Alger growing in her pool where her puppy drowned. She jokes about her mucky mansion. But it ain’t a joke that animals are dying from her lack of care.”
Another pet dog also died under Katie’s care, a three weeks old Bulldog named Rola, and even Katie doesn’t know how the pup died, which is shocking and alarming. There’s also her dog Sparkle who was mowed down in February 2020.
The recent incident involving Sharon was revealed to be another case of negligence because the Pomeranian allegedly ran away onto the road and was hit by a car. The driver took the poor pup to Arun Vets in West Sussex, but unfortunately, the dog succumbed to its injuries.
Aside from the deaths that could have been avoided, Katie was also under fire when news broke that she gave Rolo cannabis oil. The model, in her defense, said that she didn’t know that it was illegal to provide animals with the substance without a veterinarian’s prescription.
Katie continues to face criticism from animal rights activists.
