Remi Bader Reveals She Spent Thanksgiving On Her Own
Remi Bader, the 29-year-old content creator, shared an emotional and heartfelt Thanksgiving experience on social media, choosing to spend the holiday alone. In an Instagram Story, she reached out to others who might also be spending the day solo. With her message written over a vase of orange roses, she began, “Know I love you and I’m grateful for you! Lucky every single day to have this platform and do what I do. Thank you for being here.”
She followed the note with a photo of herself in tears, explaining that while spending the holiday alone wasn’t her original plan, it was what she needed. “I am definitely an over sharer so for once I’m not going to, but sometimes you need to set your boundaries and do what’s best for you and your mental health. Spending today alone was not the plan but what I felt I needed to do for me,” she wrote.
Remi expressed her love for Thanksgiving and her determination to still enjoy the day, asking her followers for restaurant recommendations in New York City that served a traditional Thanksgiving dinner.
After receiving over 50 suggestions, she shared her decision to stay in, wearing cozy pajamas, drinking wine, and watching the new Lindsay Lohan movie on Netflix. “Decided to put on my wicked pjs, drink some wine and watch the new lindsay lohan movie on netflix,” she shared with her followers.
“I decided that I’m tired, decided to get myself a glass of wine, light a candle and watch the new Lindsay Lohan movie — and because I love thanksgiving so much, I decided to find somewhere that offers a Thanksgiving dinner,” she said further.
Remi ended up choosing takeout and showed off her $64 feast, complete with turkey and pumpkin pie. She admitted it was pricey but said, “I made an amazing decision.”
On TikTok, she opened up further, speaking to her followers about why she chose to spend the day alone. Without sharing specific details, she explained the importance of setting boundaries. “We often feel forced to be around people who don’t make us feel our best during the holidays. I needed to do what was right for my mental health,” she said.
Remi acknowledged that many people might feel similarly during the holidays, and she wanted to help them feel less alone. Her DMs were flooded with messages from fans in similar situations, and she reassured them, saying, “I just want to say to anyone else. Maybe you’re going through some s—, because we all are, um and personal stuff, your thanksgiving does not need to look like everyone else’s.”
This moment of honesty came shortly after Remi spoke on social media about her mental health journey and her ongoing relationship with food. She explained her struggles with binge eating and her progress toward improving her mindset around food. “I still do have a pretty messed up mindset when it comes to food, but it’s so much better. So I’m enjoying being able to eat all different kinds of foods and that’s why I’ve been wanting to share this. Hope that helps,” she stated.
