Rihanna Shares Her Go-To Mom Outfit: “Anything That’s Cozy, Anything That’s Stretchy”
Rihanna is not just a global superstar — she’s also a busy mom who knows exactly what she needs when it comes to her mom duties. In an exclusive chat with PEOPLE at the Savage X Fenty Lavish Lace Collection Preview at Nordstrom in Los Angeles on October 10, the singer shared her go-to wardrobe for handling life as a mother of two.
As a mom to sons RZA, 2, and Riot, 14 months, whom she shares with her partner, rapper A$AP Rocky, Rihanna emphasizes comfort and practicality. “Anything that’s cozy, anything that’s stretchy, anything that’s easy to bend down and pick my kids up in. Those are the things I look for,” Rihanna said, further explaining, “Things that don’t scratch me, don’t scratch them. We’ve got a lot of work to do in a day of a life of a mom!”
But even while prioritizing comfort, Rihanna’s style remains iconic. The fashion mogul explained that she loves incorporating lingerie into everyday outfits. “Lingerie to me should be worn any way and anywhere that you want. Whether you want it to be seen on display outside of T-shirts, inside a jacket falling off, or just to be cozy or have a little support,” she told PEOPLE.
Rihanna’s approach to fashion goes beyond just looking good — it’s about feeling good too. She shared that little moments of self-care, like taking off her makeup at night, make a big difference. “These are just little things that mean a lot. It feels like self-care and it feels good.”
At the end of September, Rihanna launched her Lavish Lace Collection with a stunning photoshoot that turned heads. The Diamonds singer posed in a yellow lace lingerie set from the collection, complete with a bra, panty, garter belt, suspenders, stockings, and lace gloves. The images, set against a backdrop of draped white lace, were shared on the official Savage X Fenty Instagram with the caption: “Lavish all over. 💋.”
Talking about the inspiration behind the new collection, Rihanna said, “Lavish Lace was actually designed to be a part of your everyday life. Lace has always been such a rigid fabric and something that women have loved forever, but always relate to special moments and always moments that are meant to be seen and on display, and I wanted to incorporate lace and make it cozy, make it something for every day, make it something that’s for you, whether you want it to be seen or is under your jeans, T-shirts, whatever.”
