Ryan Reynolds & Daughter Watch Wrexham FC Vs. Sheffield United Games Live In Wales
On Sunday, January 29, Ryan Reynolds and his daughter, James, 7, were live in Wales to watch the Wrexham FC Vs. Sheffield match.
Before settling in for the games, Ryan, who co-owns Wrexham FC with American actor Rob McElhenney, first took his daughter on a brief tour around the stands and onto the pitch. The 46-year-old Deadpool actor seemed in great spirit before and all through the games while also spending some time bonding with his daughter.
The Adam Project star shares daughter James and two others — Inez, 6 and Betty, 2 — as well as a fourth baby arriving soon with Blake Lively, his wife of 11 years.
While Ryan excitedly watched Wrexham FC play against Sheffield United live, his 35-year-old wife tuned in from LA to support her husband and his club.
The Gossip Girl star shared her Instagram story: “I bought espn+ today. Just to watch my husband experience crippling anxiety live. Worth it. X.” She says on the same post: “If you’re not watching this insane @wrexham afc game right now, you’re missing out on these vibes. They’re playing a team 3 leagues higher. And currently winning. Life makes no sense.”
The soccer game between Wrexham FC and Sheffield United came to a head-to-heard draw of 3:3. The game’s outcome impressed Ryan, who described the match on Twitter as “one of the most exciting things I’ve seen.”
Still, on Twitter, the club owner mentioned his co-owner, saying: “When @RMcElhenney and I got into this it all felt so impossible. But impossible is Wrexham’s favorite colour.”
“That was one of the most exciting things I’ve EVER seen. Thank you each and every Wrexham supporter who came out and aimed your heart at that pitch tonight.”
In the fall of 2020, the Deadpool star and the It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia star purchased Wrexham AFC for $2.5 million. The club is a Welsh football club that plays in the lowest tier in UK football.
However, the club’s record is rather a thing of inspiration for Ryan, who told BBC the impact his and Rob’s takeover has had on them, saying: “We looked at a bunch of different clubs, but Wrexham just spoke to us.”The actor is very optimistic about the club as he told BBC, “The plan is to get to the Premier League, if it’s theoretically possible, then why not? That is the goal. Realistically the fact that we’re in this church, if I were Sheffield United, I’d be taking this game very seriously.”
