Sam Asghari Expresses Support For Britney Spears And Her Best-Selling Memoir
In a heartwarming display of camaraderie, actor Sam Asghari, 29, has voiced his unwavering support for his estranged wife, pop icon Britney Spears. TMZ caught up with the 29-year-old on October 26 in Los Angeles, seeking his thoughts on Brtiney’s newly released memoir, The Woman in Me, where she affectionately dubbed him a “gift from God.”
Sam, the Iranian-American performer, felt genuine warmth as he shared, saying, “That made me smile, to be honest.”
He didn’t stop there but went on to commend Britney’s best-selling memoir, which offers a captivating glimpse into her journey to superstardom and the remarkable 13 years she spent under a conservatorship. “I’m freaking proud of her. I hope she takes over the world,” he stated.
Britney herself expressed deep admiration for Sam in her memoir, writing, “I have an appreciation for how stable he is. I love that he doesn’t drink. He’s a gift from God.”
The two’s love story began on the set of Britney’s Slumber Party music video in 2016, and they embarked on a whirlwind romance, becoming engaged in September 2021 and tying the knot in March 2022. In August, news broke that their marriage ended and that Sam filed for divorce. Although The Woman in Me primarily chronicles the genesis of their relationship and their instant chemistry, it does not delve into the dissolution of their marriage, which was finalized just over two months before the book’s publication.
Before they became husband and wife, Sam stood firmly by the songstress’ side during pivotal moments in her life. In 2019, as she received mental health treatment, and in 2021, during her highly publicized conservatorship battle, he reportedly provided unwavering support. During her emotional public testimony in June 2021, where she requested her father’s removal from the role of conservator, insiders revealed that Samr had been a vital pillar of strength for the star, ensuring she maintained her physical and mental well-being.
The Woman in Me, which is scheduled to hit bookshelves on October 24, marks a significant milestone in Britney’s journey. It arrives just two years after her conservatorship was terminated in November 2021, signaling a newfound chapter of self-expression and autonomy.
In an exclusive email interview with PEOPLE ahead of the book’s release, Britney stated, “It is finally time for me to raise my voice and speak out, and my fans deserve to hear it directly from me. No more conspiracy, no more lies — just me owning my past, present, and future.”
After the book’s release, she took to social media to express her gratitude to her dedicated fans, calling the book “the highest-selling celebrity memoir in history.”
