Setting Stories Straight: Kourtney Kardashian Responds To The Instagram Comments Directed At Her Bathroom Floor Dinner
We’re no pros in the art of celebrity lifestyle, but even we can say that having food (and lots of it, mind you) on your bathroom floor is a tacky move.
And the internet is right with us on this!
From “food on the toilet, that’s nasty” to “food in the bathroom is not the move” to “that bathroom scene is what nightmares are made of”, users took to Instagram to share their two cents on one of Kourtney Kardashian’s most controversial Instagram posts.
Some even assumed that the reality star was eating in her bathroom. Sheesh.
Confused? We’ll give you a recap.
The reality star, wife of Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker, shared a photo dump on March 27, which featured her bathroom covered with various plates of food.
Naturally, it created a lot of buzz, which the Poosh founder later acknowledged on her IG stories by re-posting the photo and writing “the comments about this photo” with swirly-eyes emojis, which seemed to express annoyance and disbelief.
Before you jump in the comment section to share your views on the matter, here’s a scrap of information you should know: the photos were behind-the-scenes images of her and her husband’s campaign for Daring — a plant-based chicken company, as the Lemme founder clarified.
To solidify her claim, the Kardashian star shared a professional picture of her and her husband in a bathtub filled with bubbles to flush away the haters who came at her for the eyebrow-raising post of plates full of food like pancakes, chicken tenders, strawberries, bottles of champagne, and desserts on the bathroom floor. It also gave users a bird’s eye view of a half-eaten burger atop the toilet seat.
The wellness enthusiast came with receipts, mind you. She also tagged Ellen von Unweth, the renowned photographer who made the shots happen, to seal the deal.
Considering the uproar, you must think the picture is new.
Here’s a newsflash—it’s not.
The photo was first unveiled in June 2022, 9 months ago, on Daring’s Instagram account. According to Harper’s Bazaar, the meat-free ad campaign was clicked just days after Kourtney and Travis tied the knot in Las Vegas back in April 2022.
It was posted alongside other images of the couple enjoying vegan dishes sprawled out on a hotel bed and one in the back of a limousine.
Go big or go home, right?
While the consensus was that a nasty bathroom dinner was simply not it, some fans came to the defense of the Hulu star with all they’ve got.
After all, you can spot a bag of frozen “chicken” from the brand and a napkin bearing the word “Daring” in the photo if you look carefully enough.
One fan wrote, “People are commenting about food in the bathroom but you take your phone in the bathroom and then have it at the table taking pics of your food…same difference. Let Kourt live!” while another added, “You’ve never ordered room service and ate it in the tub? Then you aren’t truly living my friend.”
