“So Grateful For Our Modern Family,” Katy Perry Pens Heartwarming Post Dedicated To Her Fiancé’s Ex-Wife
In a sweet post on her Instagram page on Monday, Katy Perry addressed Miranda Kerr, her fiancé’s ex-wife.
In the post, Katy, 38, refers to Miranda, 39, as her “fav Aussie & sister from another mister.” The singer introduced the caption under a post that contained snaps from Saturday’s 20th annual G’Day USA Arts Gala in Los Angeles.
The Roar star writes to Miranda: “I loved celebrating my fav Aussie Aussie Aussie (oi oi oi) & sister from another mister @mirandakerr the other night @gdayusa Art’s Gala. Congrats on the honor, I love our modern family & I love @koraorganics Tumeric Glow Moisturizer so much i dressed like it.”
“Also thank u for introducing me to celery juice I just thought they were those veg stick things I stir me Bloody Mary’s with,” she added.
During the event, Katy spoke extensively about the mother-of-three and Australian model, saying: “Many of you may be confused as to why I’m presenting Miranda with this award. It doesn’t fit the ex-wife, new wife narrative. Many in the media would like to see us mud wrestle…but this is about love, and Miranda is love.”
“I’m so grateful for our modern blended family. It’s like I gained another sister, one with whom I usually sidebar from the main family chat and agree with,” Katy added in her speech.
Before the relationship between the Teenage Dream singer and the English actor Orlando Bloom started, he was married to Miranda from 2010 to 2013. The union bore a twelve-year-old son before their split. In 2016, Katy and Orlando started dating, engaged in 2019, and had their first daughter, Daisy, on August 26, 2020.
The talented singer is not the only one who has publicly spoken about their “modern blended family.” In an episode of the Drew Barrymore Show in November 2020, Miranda spoke about developing strong bonds with Katy during family events with her son Flynn.
“We really do always think of what is the best thing for Flynn, and I just think that’s the most important thing,” she told the host.
Since her split with Orlando, Miranda has since remarried Snapchat founder Evan Spiegel in 2017 after meeting in 2014. The couple share two children, four-year-old Hart and three-year-old Miles.
Following the Los Angeles Gala on Saturday, Miranda and Katy made some cutesy videos before happily posing for some blue carpet pictures.
