Sofia Richie is all set for her new clothing brand and a fresh aesthetic
Many social media influencers and Hollywood celebrities have launched their own businesses, with their popularity and built-in audience giving them an edge in marketing. Sofia Richie will soon become one of such entrepreneurs, as she will soon launch her clothing brand.
What makes her clothing line so uniquely hers is that it showcases her singular fashion sense and aesthetic.
The star, who married her husband Elliot Grainge last April at the picturesque Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc in France, co-designed the creations with pal Cass. She shared in her interview with Who What Wear, “The aesthetic is very much my vibe. I made sure to try on every single sample that embodies the aesthetic that I’ve been wearing. It’s 100% me.”
However, the 24-year-old is not keen on being the face of her clothing brand—often the norm for many celebrity-run businesses.
When asked what led Sofia to launch her own business, she said she learned a lot from her sister Nicole Richie’s House of Harlow. According to the socialite, her sister’s business was highly educational for her, and she slowly learned how she wanted to run her own brand based on how Nicole operated hers.
She explained, “I’ve watched Nicole design for years with House of Harlow, and it has definitely been inspiring for me. I’ve taken notes, and I’ve learned a lot. We don’t need to be people that throw our names on things.” She confidently added that she believes entrepreneurs should be passionate and involved in the entire process.
The newlywed also happily gushed that her co-designer is brilliant, and more importantly, they share the same vibe. She revealed how she and Cass had humble beginnings, and their initial meetings were not at all elaborate or serious. Cass came over to her house one day, and in her backyard, both wearing sweatpants, they started coming up with ideas for what will be their brand.
Furthermore, Sofia explained that they started with things that inspired them. For Sofia, it was art and music, and then they started building their brand’s backstory. They hope that people who purchase their products will love every piece and detail behind it.
With the launch of her business and a new marriage, life has been quite exciting for Sofia. The couple started their relationship in January 2021, several months after she and Scott Disick finally called it quits. Sofia was with Scott for three years.
Meanwhile, she and Elliot began their relationship as friends. Still talking to Who What Wear, Sofia revealed, “We started off as just friends. I would always tell him, ‘Whoever you end up with is the luckiest girl.’ I thought that person was going to be loved, appreciated, and worshipped. And then I realized one day… Why can’t that lucky girl be me?”
As they started their romantic relationship, Sofia remembers how different her now-husband made her feel—safe and appreciated.
At their wedding, Sofia’s favorite designer played a significant role in making her dream a reality. Everybody knows how much Sofia loves Chanel, so the fashion house made her wedding dress and two more dresses for the rehearsal dinner and the other for the reception.
