The talented actress, who’s all set to dazzle in the upcoming legal drama, disclosed that cameras will start rolling for Suits L.A. in April, with a captivating pilot script already in place.
“There is a pilot script, and that’s what we’ll be filming in April,” she shared, adding, “Fingers crossed that the pilot gets a series order. But, I’m pretty excited. Pretty sure we’ll get our series order, for sure.”
“So [Suits] has this resurgence that everyone’s excited about. And so, the news about dropping Suits L. A. is just, it’s going crazy. And I love it. It’s so much fun. I can’t wait to actually get started,” she added.
The series will center around Ted Black, portrayed by Arrow star Stephen Amell, a former federal prosecutor making waves in Los Angeles by representing powerful clients. Lee herself has snagged a significant role as Erica Rollins, a smart and determined rising star working alongside Black.
Without spilling the whole tea, Lex hinted at the possibility of the original cast being a part of the spinoff.
“It’s not impossible. I would love that myself if there was, but we’ll see. You never know,” she said.
Lex expressed her thrill at being part of the project, especially considering the resurgence of interest in the original Suits series. She also hinted at the possibility of some crossover from the original cast, adding to the anticipation surrounding the spin-off.
“It’s something I prayed for, it’s something I manifested,” she said, reflecting on her journey to landing the role. She expressed pride in her accomplishments, highlighting the importance of self-recognition in the industry.
In her words, “I am proud. I’m able to stand here proudly and say I’m excited that I am filling such big shoes. But I do know and I’m confident that I can handle it well, and I’ll be able to carry the torch well and make, hopefully make the original cast proud.”
Despite her excitement, Lee acknowledged the hard work behind securing her role as Erica Rollins, emphasizing her dedication and multiple auditions for the part.
“I worked very hard to earn the role. I went in five times for this character and really laid it all out there for the producers and the creator of the show,” she shared.
