SZA Denies Supposed Beef With Taylor Swift As She Praises Fellow Singer’s Album
Sza is clarifying that she and Taylor Swift do not have any issues between them after the two singers released commercially and critically acclaimed albums towards the end of 2022. Fans have speculated that the two singers are involved in a real-life rift following the release of their albums in 2022.
Sza’s album SOS topped the Billboard 200 chart with Taylor’s Midnights album charting just below. The singer thinks fans are extrapolating this chart “rivalry” to a real life feud between the two. And in an attempt to kill the fire before it goes out of hand, the 33-year-old took to Twitter to deny the rumors and assure her fans that all is calm between the two camps.
“Uhh I feel silly that I even have to say this but i see supporters arguing and I hate that. I don’t have beef w ANYONE especially not Taylor lmao I genuinely loved her album and the writing!” Sza tweeted on Thursday.
The Broken Clocks star added that everyone is doing their best, encouraging fans to let love reign.
Sza’s tweet was part of a thread in which she asked fans to keep streaming her songs as she had 1 minute left in the tracking week. However while she wanted her album on top, that is purely for commercial success and not a targeted attack or vendetta against anyone.
SOS officially took the number one spot on the Billboard 200 charts and has maintained it for three weeks on a row. Midnights followed behind and stayed at number 2.
Now the songstress wants a fourth week at the top table. And it doesn’t seem out of reach considering the extreme love fans have shown the album.
Sza’s latest album comes five years after she took a beloved spot in the music industry with her first album Ctrl from 2017. Having kept fans waiting for so long, it is no surprise that they are pouring a lot of love into the new one.
The support is not lost on Sza who wrote a note of appreciation to her fans on December 29.
“I jus wanna say the way y’all been riding for me and genuinely wanna see me win / get my first number one means SO much,” she stated.
“Community is everything and I couldn’t do any of this w out YALL THANK YOU I LOVE AND APPRECIATE YOU-” she added as she ended her message with the white heart and SOS emojis.
