Tamar Braxton Reveals Terrifying Near-Death Accident: “I Almost Died Sunday”
Tamar Braxton is lucky to be alive after what she describes as a near-death experience over the weekend.
The 48-year-old singer opened up to fans on Instagram Stories on August 19, admitting she struggled to even find the words. “I almost died Sunday,” she wrote. “I was found in a pool of blood from my friend with a face injury… I fractured my nose, lost some teeth and mobility… the way I look at life now is totally different.”
She added that while her body is slowly healing, her mental recovery is just beginning.
Tamar said she does not fully remember what happened, only that the aftermath has left her shaken and weak. She asked her followers for prayers and played the worship song Spirit Lead Me over her post, before later sharing a Bible passage from Proverbs 31 about strong women. Hours before she revealed the ordeal, she had posted a simple message of gratitude: “Thank you God for waking me up today.”
This scary moment comes in the middle of what was supposed to be a season of celebration for Tamar. Earlier this year she announced she was hitting the road, promising fans a “whole new set list” and new music. Determined to be in top shape, she shared her fitness journey online, vowing to cut carbs and alcohol to give her all on stage.
Beyond music, Tamar has been back on TV with her family. She recently reunited with sisters Toni, Trina, and Towanda, along with their mother, Evelyn “Miss E” Braxton, for the WEtv series The Braxtons, created in honor of their late sister Traci, who passed away in 2022. The show has already been renewed for a second season, and Tamar continues to honor Traci’s memory, often posting emotional tributes.
Now, after facing this frightening accident, Tamar says her perspective on life has changed. “Pray for me for real,” she urged her fans.
