Taylor Swift Joins The Deadpool & Wolverine Hype With Fun Instagram Shoutout
Taylor Swift is riding the wave of excitement for the highly anticipated film Deadpool & Wolverine! On Thursday, July 25, the pop star took to Instagram Stories to share a behind-the-scenes snap featuring herself with the film’s stars — Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman—and Reynolds’ wife Blake Lively, along with the movie’s director Shawn Levy.
In the fun-filled photo, Taylor is seen grinning alongside the film’s stars and her close friends. Ryan and Hugh, known for their long-standing bromance and playful rivalry, were joined by Blake and Shawn for the special moment. Taylor’s caption reflected her admiration for Reynolds’ dedication to the film.
“Over the past few years I have watched one of my best friends on this planet pour every bit of his heart, soul, sweat, time, energy, jokes, pain, joy, rebellion, darkness, and magic into this film. He’s created the best work of his life, and this film feels like an actual joy portal, a wild escape from reality, and an abs sandwich. I don’t know how he did it,” he stated.
Taylor also poked fun at the friendly dynamic between Ryan and Hugh, noting, “But that’s just Hugh for you! These other randoms crashed the photo, and we were too polite to ask them to leave. 🙃”
Excited for the film’s release on July 26, Taylor urged her fans to get their tickets, adding a playful nod to Ryan’s onscreen alter ego.
“Shout out to Wade Wilson, aka my godkids’ sperm donor,” she quipped.
The friendship between Taylor, Ryan, and Blake goes way back, strengthened by Taylor’s growing connections with Hugh and Shawn. Last fall, the stars and their director were spotted at an NFL game cheering on Taylor’s boyfriend, Travis Kelce, and it seemed like a budding bond.
Rumors circulated this spring about a possible cameo from Taylor in Deadpool & Wolverine, especially with movie posters featuring friendship bracelets reminiscent of Swift’s Eras Tour. However, Entertainment Weekly confirmed in June that the pop star won’t be making an appearance in the film.
Recently, Ryan and Hugh discussed their experiences hanging out with Taylor while promoting Heineken Silver’s Deadpool & Wolverine-themed ads. Ryan described Taylor as “a fun person to have a beer with” and joked about her potential as a future Deadpool.
“People keep asking if she’s in the movie, and I keep saying if there’s ever someone else to play Deadpool, I think it might actually be Taylor,” he quipped.
