Taylor Swift Surprises Fans With Special Duet Performance With Maren Morris
Taylor Swift delighted her fans during her Eras Tour stop in Chicago by bringing country singer Maren Morris onto the stage for a surprise duet performance of their song, You All Over Me. The Grammy-winning artist, who recently announced tour dates in Latin America for her international trek, enthusiastically welcomed Morris to join her on stage for the first live performance of the track.
The duet, a vault track previously recorded and released on Fearless (Taylor’s Version) in April 2021, left the crowd in awe. Taylor, effortlessly stylish in a long, layered green dress with sparkling embellishments, stood alongside Morris, who rocked zebra-striped pants and a fitted white tank top.
Maren shared a clip on her TikTok and Instagram accounts, capturing the moment Taylor introduced her to sing the duet. Taylor teased the crowd, saying, “We are so lucky, Chicago, so very lucky. Because not only did that artist say yes, to sing on that song with me, Maren Morris is actually here.”
Expressing her admiration for Maren, Taylor gushed, “She’s one of my favorite artists. I just cannot wait to watch everything she does for the rest of her career. Everything she does is so thoughtful and so brilliant.”
She then added, “You’re one of the best songwriters ever, and you’re gonna sing with your beautiful voice for us now,” before diving into the track.
In another video uploaded by a concertgoer on Twitter, Taylor admitted her initial uncertainty about the success of her re-recorded albums. She expressed her gratitude to Maren, saying, “It was so nice and so generous of you to lend your voice to the very first re-recording I had because nobody knew if this was going to be, like, a success or a very embarrassing project.”
Cutting in, Maren responded, “It’s one of my favorite records, so it was an honor to be on it. It was also during Covid, so it was weird times.”
Despite the initial doubt, Fearless (Taylor’s Version) quickly became a success, topping the Billboard 200 chart and becoming the second best-selling country record of 2021.
Throughout her Eras Tour, Taylor has surprised her fans by bringing various artists onto the stage, including Marcus Mumford and Ice Spice. But this is not the first time she and Maren have performed together. They previously sang The Middle during Taylor’s 2018 Reputation tour.
