Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour Wows Bill Clinton: “I Get It Now”
Even Bill Clinton couldn’t resist the Taylor Swift phenomenon. The former president recently joined the ranks of Swifties when he attended her Eras Tour with his daughter Chelsea, granddaughter Charlotte, and their friends. Bill shared his experience during an appearance on Live with Kelly and Mark on November 25, where he was promoting his new memoir, Citizen: My Life After the White House.
“I’d never been to one of her concerts before, and it was — I get it now. I understand why she has such an impact on people and why a lot of these young girls are so captivated,” Bill stated.
“I get it now,” Clinton confessed, reflecting on his first-ever Taylor Swift concert. “I understand why she has such an impact on people and why a lot of these young girls are so captivated.”
The Eras Tour, known for its record-breaking success, left a lasting impression on Bill. He described the magical atmosphere of unity within his group, which included people of all ages. Watching his granddaughter sing along with family friends from decades ago stood out as a highlight of the night.
“I was fascinated watching our crowd of kids, especially our granddaughter, standing there with the wife of one of Chelsea’s friends from 20-plus years ago, and her daughters — all of them singing and they all knew the words to the songs. It was great,” Bill stated.
Bill also praised Taylor’s stamina and commitment to her fans, performing an extensive three-hour set. According to him, it is a “very respectful thing to do for the audience.”
Kelly Ripa joked about whether anyone in Bill’s group had asked him to pull some strings for backstage access. Bill laughed, admitting, “Actually, they didn’t, and I probably couldn’t have.”
The Eras Tour, which began in March 2023, has already made history as the first tour to gross over $1 billion in ticket sales. Taylor is now wrapping up the final leg of her tour, with her last show scheduled for December 8 in Vancouver.
