Taylor Swift’s Rep Slams Marriage Claims: “Enough is enough with these fabricated lies about Taylor”
Taylor Swift’s blissful break from her Era’s tour is interrupted by some bold accusations. Here’s how Tree Paine, the head of Taylor’s publicity team, stood up for Swift.
DeuxMoi, an anonymous gossip account, has been making the rounds on Instagram and X (formerly known as Twitter) for all the wrong reasons. On November 30th, the gossip account posted a series of stories. In one of these stories, the writer claimed that Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn, Swift’s ex, had a secret marriage ceremony.
The story spoke about Swift and Alwyn’s relationship timeline. It stated, “She made a specific reference to the length of their relationship in “Glitch” that strongly implies a continuous six year relationship. Even YOU, DeuxMoi, is now trying to claim you thought they were on a break in 2023 when you were maintaining they were secretly married up until and after they broke up!! LOL…”
Paine, deciding to put the rumors to rest, took a screenshot of DeuxMoi’s story and tweeted, “Enough is enough with these fabricated lies about Taylor from DeuxMoi. There was NEVER a marriage or ceremony of ANY kind. This is an insane thing to post.”
She further added, “It’s time for you to be held accountable for the pain and trauma you cause with posts like these.” Fans instantly got to the platform and were seen supporting the pop singer’s publicist.
As for DeuxMoi, although they apologized, they didn’t seem to agree with Paine or take back whatever they claimed completely. They responded via Instagram stories, “Well, I make zero dollars from lying… can publicists say the same?”
In the next few stories, the anon writer noted, “Also, to relate something that is in reference to something that happened years ago to ‘pain & trauma’ after what just happened seems like a poor choice of words,” They added, “Either way, I apologize to Taylor.”
Swift’s breakup with Alwyn made headlines back in April. The two were together for six years, during which many speculated a marriage of some sort. Both the parties explicitly have denied the claims, and the Shake it Off singer even referred to it as “weird rumors.”
The 33-year-old singer spoke about her song Lavender Haze and its meaning in a now-deleted video. She said she wrote the song after she was inspired by how the two ignored the noise. The video saw Swift say, “I guess, theoretically, when you’re in the lavender haze, you’ll do anything to stay there and not let people bring you down off that cloud. Like my relationship. For six years, we’ve had to dodge weird rumors, tabloid stuff and we just ignore it. And so this song is sort of about the act of ignoring that stuff to protect the real stuff.”
No one really knows the true reason for Swift’s and Alwyn’s relationship. However, the singer has moved on and is now dating Travis Kelce, an American football tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs. The two have been seen attending each other’s concerts and matches and seem to be quite smitten with each other.
