“Teen Mom” Star Kailyn Lowry Welcomes Twins
Kailyn Lowry, the Teen Mom actress, has some exciting news to share with her fans. In a heartwarming episode of the Barely Famous podcast, which premiered on Friday, Kailyn and her boyfriend, Elijah Scott, announced the arrival of their adorable twins – a son and a daughter.
The little ones made their early entrance into the world, with the son arriving at 11:36 p.m. and the daughter following closely at 11:40 p.m. While the exact birth date remains a well-kept secret, Kailyn and Elijah did disclose that the twins were six weeks old at the time of recording the podcast.
In this special episode, Kailyn and Elijah offered an intimate glimpse into their journey, recounting the experience of the twins’ birth, which took place via C-section. Kailyn admitted to feeling a mix of fear and anxiety about the procedure, especially since it was her first time.
“I was terrified, because I’m like, ‘I just don’t love this idea,’ ” she confessed, revealing that her son was in a breech position, necessitating the C-section. She also shared her surprise when she learned that Elijah wouldn’t be allowed in the room during the procedure, leaving her feeling vulnerable due to the medications.
After the birth, Kailyn made the decision to have her tubes tied, ensuring that her youngest child and only daughter would be her last. She acknowledged the medical advice that women might feel regret after such a procedure but emphasized that she had no regrets.
Reflecting on the experience, Kailyn expressed her preference for natural childbirth without medication due to the side effects she encountered post-birth. She also shared a cautionary tale about overexertion during recovery, recounting the moment she accidentally ripped open her incision while doing housework.
In her own words, Kailyn concluded her thoughts on the C-section, stating, “I hated every minute of it, wouldn’t recommend it to anyone,” though she was grateful that there were no major complications.
Elijah, on the other hand, admitted feeling nervous while watching Kailyn navigate through this challenging experience, showing unwavering support for his partner.
These newborn twins join Kailyn and Elijah’s growing family, which includes their son Rio (14 months), Creed (3½), and Lux (6½), as well as Kailyn’s other children, Lincoln (10) with ex Javi Marroquin and Isaac (14) with ex Jo Rivera.
Kailyn recently shared her decision to close the chapter of “baby-making” in her parenting journey, finding contentment in the completeness of her family. She expressed excitement about exploring motherhood with more privacy and control over what she shares with the world.
