Tia Mowry Reflects On The Impact of “Sister, Sister” And How Everything Felt So Real On First Day On Set
Tia Mowry, the actress known for her role in Sister, Sister, recently opened up about how the iconic show changed her life. In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, Tia reminisced about the series’ beginnings and shared insights into her current projects.
Recalling the excitement of the show’s inception, Tia described the surreal moment of seeing her name on the script for the first time. “It said ‘Tia Landry—Tia Mowry,’ and that was when everything just became so real,” she shared.
“As a child, you always have dreams and you’re working towards your goals and your dreams. When you actually see that come into fruition, it’s just so rewarding and I feel so blessed to be able to get that opportunity at such a young age,” she added.
Reflecting on her experience on Sister, Sister, Tia emphasized its lasting impact on her career. “I feel like it’s really helped me with my career now,” she explained. “Whenever I’m going through challenges or struggles, or whatever it is, I can always go back and say, ‘You know what, Tia? If you were able to do it then, you can do it now.'”
Tia also highlighted the joy of working alongside her sister, Tamera Mowry-Housley, calling it “just an amazing experience to have at such a young age.” She expressed gratitude for the supportive environment on set, noting that it felt like “a party every day.”
“To be able to do it with a family member was so special. It was like a party every day on set. It was such a blessing and we were so blessed to have such an amazing supporting cast. There were no divas or anything like that. It was genuinely great,” she stated.
In addition to her acting career, Tia is actively involved in sharing parenting tips and advice. Partnering with Walmart+, she will engage with fans on TikTok, offering insights and hacks for navigating motherhood.
Describing how she feels about the event, she said, “I’m excited about doing this really, really fun live on Walmart’s TikTok, where I get to connect with moms and share some of my tips and tricks that I learned while navigating motherhood.”
“I truly feel that I constantly ask for support and advice from my circle of moms and my community of moms. We all know that it takes a village. So it’s awesome that Walmart+ is just getting me and some other moms together to answer some real mom questions so we can all help each other out,” she added.
