Tiffany Haddish Reveals Hilarious Hustle Of Selling Fake Halle Berry Undies Before Hollywood Fame
Before Tiffany Haddish became a household name, she had a unique way of making ends meet. On July 29, during an appearance on Nick Cannon’s “We Playin’ Spades” podcast, the 44-year-old shared a surprising detail from her pre-fame days. According to her, she once pretended to sell Halle Berry’s underwear online!
While playing a round of spades, host Nick Cannon joked that if they lost, they’d have to leave their underwear on the clothing line. Tiffany responded with a laugh, revealing, “I’ll mail them in like I used to back in the day when I was struggling for money. I used to sell my panties.”
Tiffany explained that she created a fake persona named Rosalinda, claiming she was a housekeeper for Halle Berry. She would advertise “Halle Berry’s dirty panties” on Craigslist, and to her surprise, she made $300 doing it!
The comedienne had previously mentioned Halle in a 2017 Vanity Fair interview. She shared that people often compared her to Halle’s character from the 1995 film Losing Isaiah, where the 57-year-old actress plays a troubled woman.
“When I was young, people used to say, ‘You look just like Halle Berry—out of Losing Isaiah,’” Tiffany recalled. She even used the Halle connection to get into clubs, telling people, “Halle Berry’s my auntie,” which, amusingly, worked every time.
Tiffany’s path to success was paved with numerous struggles. In a 2018 Vanity Fair interview, she revealed that Kevin once lent her $300 when she was homeless and living in her car. The money helped her secure a rundown apartment, which she described as “disgusting” but perfect for her at the time.
In April, Tiffany confirmed on SiriusXM’s This Life of Mine with James Corden that she still owns that same apartment. In her words: “I still have that place. I still have it. I had to fix it up myself and I still got it.”
