Tom Holland Says His Spider-Man Suit Gets Replaced Every Two Weeks
Tom Holland just confirmed what every Spider-Man fan has secretly wondered on whether those superhero suits last long. In a new Esquire interview on September 9, the 29-year-old actor admitted that by the time he’s shot a couple of weeks on set, the suit is already due for replacement.
“I probably get a new suit every two weeks, I reckon,” Tom joked.
The revelation comes as he films Spider-Man: Brand New Day, his fourth solo outing as Peter Parker, which started shooting in August. Fans already spotted him and fiancée Zendaya hanging out on set in London, and Tom himself teased a behind-the-scenes video from Scotland on Instagram.
But this time around, Tom isn’t just swinging through cityscapes but is doing more by helping shape the story. The actor revealed he has been combing through fan theories online, then pitching ideas to Marvel.
In his words: “I really just kind of put together a vibe of what people were looking for and went to Marvel and said, ‘This is what I think we should be doing.’ And I think that’s exactly what we are doing. So it’s been a really fun process developing the movie. It’s the first time I’ve ever been allowed in that part of the process, and it’s definitely a stressful experience. But I think where we’ve got to, now that we’re shooting, we are shooting absolute gold.”
For Tom, the mission is simple: honor the character while making sure fans feel their time is well spent. “For me, I want to do justice to Peter Parker’s character. I want to bring the fans something that’s really worthy of their time, and I’m very grateful for their investment in our franchise,” he said, speaking to Esquire. “I don’t mean financially, I mean the time to go to the cinema three times. That’s a big ask.”
Zendaya returns as MJ, alongside Jacob Batalon and Jon Favreau, with newcomers Sadie Sink, Liza Colón-Zayas, Michael Mando, Jon Bernthal, and even Mark Ruffalo joining the cast. Spider-Man: Brand New Day lands in theaters on July 31, 2026.
