Travis Kelce Muses Over Taylor Swift Stealing The Show At Patriots vs. Chiefs Game
In a turn of events during the recent game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the New England Patriots, it wasn’t a touchdown that stole the spotlight but rather the presence of pop sensation Taylor Swift. Travis Kelce, the Chiefs’ star tight end, shared the inside scoop during a recent podcast episode, and it’s safe to say that fans and opponents alike were left in awe.
As the game unfolded at the Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, Taylor, donning a gray Chiefs sweatshirt and a crochet beanie featuring Travis’ jersey number, 87, graced the big screen. The reaction from the crowd was nothing short of extraordinary. The entire home team fan base went wild for the singer, who was proudly sporting the Chiefs’ colors.
Travis was left amazed by the spectacle, as he confessed, “They showed Taylor at the game, and I mean you don’t see an entire home team fan base go insane for somebody wearing the opposite team’s colors.”
He went on to praise Swift, saying, “It just shows you how amazing that girl is. They went absolutely insane when they showed Taylor on the screen.”
Even Travis’ brother, Jason Kelce, who plays as a center for the Philadelphia Eagles, chimed in, calling it “pretty awesome.” Travis couldn’t help but share a laugh as he recalled trying to maintain his composure, saying, “I was trying to keep my cool. I was like, ‘Don’t show your cards, don’t show your cards.’ It was fun, man. Shout out to the Patriots, New England. Taylor, she’s on record saying that that stadium is one of the funnest that she’s played at, so for them to show her is just kind of showing her some love. So shout out to the Patriots for doing that.”
Acknowledging the spirited rivalry, Travis noted that there were a few dissenting voices in the crowd, jokingly referring to them as “Brads and Chads,” but he emphasized that the majority of fans were passionately cheering for the Blank Space singer.
Taylor, who was accompanied by her dad, Scott Swift, further fueled the excitement. Scott was decked out in full Chiefs gear, even wearing a vintage red Chiefs sweater. Jason complimented his look during the podcast, quipping, “It’s a good sweater.”
Travis chimed in, adding, “It’s a swaggy vintage joint. He’s rocking it, man, and he seems to be enjoying himself, everybody seems to be enjoying themselves in that one right there.”
During the game, Scott shared a heartwarming moment by bringing in a six-layered colorful birthday cake for his daughter, who had celebrated her 34th birthday just days earlier. In a viral TikTok clip, Scott could be seen setting down the cake while Taylor smiled and laughed through the glass divider.
Taylor enjoyed the game in the company of her friend Brittany Mahomes, who is married to Travis Kelce’s teammate, quarterback Patrick Mahomes. The duo passionately supported the Chiefs throughout the game, with Taylor even lifting Brittany off her feet in jubilation when the Chiefs scored a touchdown in their luxury suite.
