Travis Scott Says Wrestling Might Be Better Than Performing

Travis Scott might be gearing up for an unexpected new career, and it’s not in music. The Sicko Mod” rapper recently got a taste of professional wrestling, and now he’s hooked.
Travis, 33, participated in John Cena’s shocking Elimination Chamber heel turn on March 1, an experience that left him completely mesmerized. In a video shared on X on March 4, he told 14-time world champion wrestler Triple H, “Bro, this might be better than, low-key, performing. It was like a whole ‘nother vibe.”
Triple H, 55, laughed and told the rapper to wait until he actually stepped into the ring himself. That’s when Travis revealed he was already thinking ahead. “I’m going back to the H [his hometown of Houston] tonight. I’m going to the ring tomorrow! I’m about to build a ring in all the cribs,” he said, adding that he plans to come back “100 pounds bigger.”
During the Elimination Chamber event in Toronto, Scott was part of a major moment alongside John and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, where they ambushed wrestler Cody Rhodes. Billboard reported that Travis ruptured Cody’s eardrum and ended up with a black eye himself in the process.
The Rock, 52, was impressed by Travis’ performance and spoke about it at a press conference after the event. “He wanted to get his hands bloody,” he said, per Variety. “I whispered to him as he was going out [to the ring]. I said, ‘If you’re gonna get your hands bloody, make it count…’ He slapped the s— out of Cody tonight. He was really, really hyped up.”
Dwayne continued, “He loves the business. We get guys and girls like that who want to come in and who are already tapping in culture and disrupting culture in their own cool way. Maybe they want to sit and enjoy, maybe they want to be on camera…But then some want to get involved and then some, like Travis, deeply want to get involved. And that’s what you saw tonight.”
Travis has been a wrestling fan for a while. Back in January, he made an appearance at Monday Night Raw’s debut on Netflix, where he also premiered his song 4×4.
He’s not the only artist who sees wrestling as a possible career move. Rapper Sexyy Red, who made her WWE NXT debut in May 2024, told Dazed in February that she admires the sport. “Rapping and wrestling are pretty much the same,” she explained. “It’s not quite acting, but it’s kind of acting too, right? Because when we go home and take off all our jewels and gold and remove the costumes we wear, we then have to go right back to reality with our families.”
