Travis Scott has some big names on his dream collaboration list, and he’s not afraid to say it. In a new interview with Billboard, the rapper revealed that he’d love to team up with Taylor Swift or Sabrina Carpenter for a future project.
“This might be crazy, but I would love to get Taylor Swift or Sabrina Carpenter on a hook. Because I have some ill ideas,” Travis, 33, shared.
That’s not all — Travis also has his eyes on working with the psychedelic band Khruangbin. While it’s unclear if any of these collaborations are in the works, fans are already imagining what a Scott-Swift or Scott-Carpenter track might sound like.
The rapper also touched on the time his 2014 mixtape Days Before Rodeo was up against Sabrina’s Short n’ Sweet on the charts last year. But as far as Travis is concerned, competition isn’t something he worries about.
“Charts, shmarts, man,” he said, brushing it off. “Who measures that? Her album’s cool. Days Before Rodeo is 10 years old. It all works.”
Aside from dream collabs, Travis is focused on his own music. He admitted he’s still tweaking the title of his next album and working hard to push his sound to the next level.
“I feel like for Utopia, I was striving to push things to a high level. I’m still reaching for that,” he said.
He also shared that he’s been taking on more of the production side of his work. “I’ve been having so much fun with music and s— that I think it’s cool to be artistic and have fun with it,” he explained. “I’ve been producing more, making a lot of the album, and going in on that level is making it more exciting. I can’t wait, actually.”
Fans won’t have to wait too long to see him live, though. In November 2024, it was announced that Travis will be one of the headliners for Coachella 2025, alongside Lady Gaga, Green Day, and Post Malone. The festival will take place over two weekends — April 11-13 and April 18-20.
Lady Gaga will hit the stage on Friday, Green Day and Travis will take over Saturday, and Malone will close things out on Sunday. According to a press release, Travis is expected to debut a new era of music while headlining and will bring a full immersive experience to the desert for his Cactus Jack brand.
Other big names set to perform include Missy Elliott, Megan Thee Stallion, Charli XCX, Benson Boone, Tyla, FKA twigs, MARINA, Lisa of BLACKPINK, Anitta, Clairo, and beabadoobee. With a lineup this stacked, Coachella 2025 is already shaping up to be one for the books.
