Usher Tries To Avoid Keke Palmer Situation In Playful Encounter With Gabrielle Union And Dwyane Wade
Usher has taken center stage with a captivating residency in the enchanting city of Paris. At 44 years old, the Good Kisser hitmaker is proving that age is just a number as he mesmerizes audiences with his exceptional performances. However, what’s truly caught the attention of many is the notable guest in his audience – the celebrated actress Gabrielle Union, who graces her 50th year with grace and style.
On a delightful Sunday evening at La Seine Musicale, Usher treated his audience to the hit song Boyfriend. The crowd, including Gabrielle, couldn’t resist the urge to groove to the rhythm. This captivating moment was captured on video, and both Usher and Gabrielle’s husband, the former NBA star Dwyane Wade, shared it on their Instagram profiles.
Usher, known for his charismatic humor, couldn’t let the moment pass without a playful remark referencing his drama with Keke Palmer and her boyfriend/baby daddy, Darius Jackson. He quipped, “Well, he should know I’m pretty — okay let’s stop. Let’s not get carried away. This is Dwyane Wade, I ain’t crazy,” as he jestingly shook hands with the basketball legend.
Usher continued with humor, “That man will knock my whole head off and then dunk it.”
The two laughed and exchanged a friendly hug as Usher showed respect and greeted Dwyane with the words, “What’s up, king?”
Usher shared the delightful footage on his Instagram page with a caption that playfully read, “Look, I don’t want no smoke 😅 👐🏾 Night one in Paris …”
For context, Darius publicly commented on Keke’s outfit choice after she was serenaded by Usher during one of his Las Vegas performances in July.
Keke, at 30, looked stunning in a fitted black bodysuit beneath a sheer dress while Usher serenaded her on stage. Darius, however, took to Twitter and remarked, “It’s the outfit tho … you a mom.”
While a social media storm ensued from the tweet, the two have since put the dispute behind them as they were spotted attending Beyoncé’s Renaissance birthday show together at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles a few weeks ago. During one of her tour stops in New York City, the actress and musician even shared endearing photos of Darius and their son Leo, born in February.
When asked about the incident, Usher shared with PEOPLE in August, “Every night I’m thinking about how the world now is going to react to this moment that I’ll have with whoever I’m choosing to sing to.”
He added, “But it was a pop moment, and it was fun to have at least conversation going, and we just keep it light. I don’t see anything negative happening in Las Vegas.”
