Will Smith Makes First Red Carpet Appearance After Infamous Oscars Slap
Eight months after the infamous Oscars slap, Will Smith is back on the red carpet. The actor made his return on Wednesday at the premiere of his latest movie Emancipation.
During the 2022 Oscars award ceremony, Will struck presenter Chris Rock after he made a joke about Will’s wife, Jada Pinkett’s shaved head. The televised incident led to Will getting banned from the award show. He also resigned from the Academy and has faced a ton of backlash from the public since then.
In recent weeks, the 54-year-old has been on a sort of apology tour as he attempts to promote his new film. He had earlier tendered an apology to Chris four months after the incident.
As he steps on the red carpet again, he is surrounded by Jada and his three kids, Willow, Trey, and Jaden.
The Hitch star looked fit in a three-piece maroon suit paired with a pale-pink shirt and brown leather dress shoes. Beside him was Jada, who stunned in a gorgeous white high-low dress with a dramatic ruffled train, a chic turtleneck and rhinestone details. She opted for strappy silver heels and sparkly silver accessories to complete the look. The couple of 25 years can be seen in photos doting on each other in joint photos as Will planted a kiss on her head in a shot.
The children were not left out of the slay as Trey, Jaden, and Willow, dressed to complement their parents’ looks while sticking to their signature styles. Willow went for a punk-inspired black and silver look. The 22-year-old rocked a black vest with a pair of low-rise pants with silver details on the hips. Completing her look was a pair of black patent leather platforms and silver rings.
24-year-old Jaden rocked a black and white abstract three-piece designed with vintage imagery of a movie theater. Underneath the suit was a white shirt and black tie. Trey, who Will shares with ex-wife Sheree Zampino, went for his father’s color scheme as he looked dapper in a maroon-toned coat. He, however, stayed on the sporty side as he went for a long sleeve T-shirt in the pink bubble gum shade and brown sneakers with white soles.
Present at the event was Will’s mother-in-law, Adrienne Banfield-Norris. The older woman looked dazzling in a long black dress and black belt with gold.
