Youngster Tells Olivia Rodrigo Only Person She Can’t Marry In Heartwarming And Hilarious Dating Advice
Olivia Rodrigo recently received some heartwarming dating advice from a young boy in an episode of the web series Recess Therapy. Hosted by Julian Shapiro-Barnum, the show brings together children to share their innocent perspectives on life. In this delightful encounter, Olivia, 20, sought wisdom on love from a boy named Miles, and his response was valuable.
The video kicked off with Rodrigo asking Miles how she could find love. With an innocent outlook, Miles advised her, “Pick a person that looks kind.” He continued, saying, “I really hope you find love,” while gently placing his hand on the songstress’ knee.
Olivia couldn’t help but acknowledge Miles’s sweetness. And he went on to offer another piece of advice: “The only person you can’t marry is your cousins.”
In another playful moment, Olivia probed Miles about what happens when someone marries their cousin. Miles’s response was straightforward: “Something bad happens to your body.”
When it came to discussing other qualities in a partner, Miles didn’t hold back. “It cannot have bags and it’s running, or a suitcase and is running very fast into stores and is not paying,” Miles said, prompting Shapiro-Barnum to translate, “You do not want people who have baggage or steal.”
Olivia’s appearance on Recess Therapy coincided with the release of her sophomore album, Guts, which soared to the top of the Billboard 200 chart earlier this month.
In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE before the album’s release, she shared her creative journey, saying, “For the first few months of writing Guts, I was dealing with a lot of noise in my head about whether it was going to be good enough or whether I could ever top what I did on Sour.”
While she acknowledged the pressure of trying to outdo herself, she found her path by changing her mindset. “I had to switch my mindset into just trying to write songs that I would like to hear on the radio and not trying to beat anything or achieve any sort of commercial success,” she revealed. “Then it became a lot more fun, and the music became a lot better.”
Olivia’s interaction with the 4-year-old comes amid speculation that her new song Vampire might be about her ex Zack Bia. While the singer has not done much to address the rumors, Zack himself has come out to say that he doesn’t believe the song is about him. “I think the internet just ran with it,” he said in an interview with GQ.
“Look, I’m in the industry so I know how a song gets made. We hung out, we’re both busy, and we ended up not furthering our relationship. There was never any drama, you know?”he explained.
