Zendaya’s “Euphoria” Baby Sister Storm Reid Says She Admires Her On and Off-Screen
In a recent cover story for Vogue, Euphoria star Zendaya, celebrated for her Emmy-winning performance, received high praise from her fellow actors, who admitted to being fans of the talented actress.
Storm Reid, Zendaya’s on-screen sister in Euphoria, confessed to still being a fan of the actress despite their close working relationship. “I still have to sometimes try to not fangirl when I’m around her,” shared the 20-year-old actress, emphasizing Zendaya’s enduring influence on her.
The bond between Zendaya and Storm dates back over a decade, with Storm recalling a chance encounter with the Disney Channel star when she was just nine years old. Little did she know that their paths would cross again as co-stars on the hit HBO drama.
“She’s still one of my biggest inspirations, and I think she’s just so incredibly talented,” Storm expressed, highlighting Zendaya’s impact both on and off the screen.
Storm’s admiration for Zendaya extends beyond her acting prowess. In a previous interview with PEOPLE last year, she praised Zendaya’s honesty and straightforwardness, describing her as a trusted advisor and mentor.
“I always go to her for advice. She’s always just super honest, super blunt, in the most loving, gentle way. But she’s still gonna tell you how she feels. And I love that because I am a very blunt, straightforward person. Just cut around all of the extra fluff and, you know, get straight to the point,” the Missing actress said of Zendaya.
While Storm isn’t the only one in awe of Zendaya, Spider-Man franchise producer Amy Pascal revealed an amusing anecdote about the actress’s audition for the role of MJ in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Ay admitted that neither she nor Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige knew who Zendaya was initially. However, they found she was exceptional and decided she would be in the movie despite not knowing who she really was.
“She was wearing no makeup and she was just dressed like a regular girl, and we were like, ‘Oh my God, she’s amazing. She has to be in the movie.’ And then we found out she was a totally famous person, and felt really stupid,” Amy shared.
