Eddie Murphy Decides On A Monthly $35,000 Support For His Daughter With Scary Spice Mel B
The mission of asking for child support ended well for Mel B as ex-partner Eddie Murphy agreed to pay her $35,000 for child support. The money will all be allocated for the expenses of Angel Iris Murphy Brown, their 15-year-old daughter.
This settlement arrived technically two years after Mel B filed for financial assistance. The court documents showed that Mel B and Eddie reached a new child support agreement. This is after the former Spice Girl cited the main reason as a change in her income.
Before Melanie Brown’s lower-income claim, Eddie was paying her $300,000 yearly or $25,000 a month for their daughter. This is after a bitter paternity battle way back in February 2009. This revised settlement, dated August 17, stated that Eddie, who falls under the extraordinary high earner category, would have to give out an additional $10,000 per month.
The payments will also be settled retroactively from October 2021 until their daughter turns eighteen. Aside from the additional amount, Eddie also agreed to pay Mel’s attorney fees, which amount to $10,000.
As per court documents, the monthly payments were to be paid via wire transfer, and the due date for the child support is set on the first day of the calendar of every month.
It also clearly stated whatever additional costs Mel B would have to cover herself. Examples of expenditures she needed to cover included costs for extracurricular activities, health care, health insurance, and additional educational expenses for the teen.
The newly brushed-up child support document also stated that material changes in circumstances did not need to be modified.
It can be recalled that Mel B asked for additional support from Ange’s father in 2020 after she claimed that her financial resources had decreased. Back then, she had enough work to provide a comfortable lifestyle for herself and her daughter.
Before the appeal for additional financial help, Mel B claimed that she did try to resolve her plea several times without the need to go to court, but her proactive approach didn’t work.
Besides Angel, Mel B also has two other daughters from previous relationships.
Mel B and Eddie’s whirlwind romance became the talk of the town then, given that both had just got out of relationships. Eddie and his wife of 12 years, with whom he had five kids, just had a divorce, and Mel B had also just broken it off with her Spice Girls backup dancer Jimmy Gulzar.
Mel B’s romance with the Beverly Hills Cop appeared to have been the highlight of her love life, with her even calling Eddie the love of her life. But it seems the actor was not her Viva Forever because the two broke up after less than a year.
Then the paternity issue became the subsequent controversy for the two, with Eddie. He has fathered ten children with different women, refusing to acknowledge or have anything to do with the Spice Girl or the daughter she claimed was his. Eddie even claimed that the singer tricked him so she could get pregnant.
But after a change of heart, Eddie finally acknowledged being the father of Angel and, since 2017, has built a relationship with his daughter.
