Gigi Paris Goes Public With New Boyfriend Two Years After Glen Powell Split
Gigi Paris made her new relationship red-carpet official at the 2025 Angel Ball in New York on October 27, where she appeared arm-in-arm with retired NFL player Cooper Helfet. The two looked every bit the happy couple, posing for photos and sharing smiles throughout the night.
Gigi stunned in a champagne-colored gown with a delicate bejeweled necklace, while Cooper, 35, kept things classic in a dark suit and yellow tie. According to onlookers, the pair spent the evening chatting and laughing over dinner, not shy about showing affection.
It’s the first time the model, 33, has gone public with a new romance since her 2023 breakup with Top Gun: Maverick actor Glen Powell. The former couple dated for three years before parting ways, with distance and demanding schedules cited as the main reasons.
“Gigi and Glen had broken up several times,” a source told PEOPLE after their split. “They had been on the rocks since Top Gun came out. Gigi was never happy with the long-distance filming, and when she came to Australia [where Powell was shooting Anyone But You], they both decided to break up for good.”
At the time, fans were quick to speculate that Glen’s on-screen chemistry with co-star Sydney Sweeney had something to do with the breakup, especially after Gigi unfollowed Sydney on Instagram. But an insider quickly shut that down, saying, “This had nothing to do with Glen and Sydney. Gigi is aware that Glen and Sydney never hooked up.”
According to the source, the model only unfollowed Sydney because Sydney never followed her back.
Still, the breakup hit Gigi hard. In June 2023, she opened up on the Too Much podcast, saying the relationship had already started to fall apart months before the public even knew. “It was just, this is what I have to do for my job,” she said, referencing the speculation about Glen and Sydney. “I had two options. I could either pretend like I was going along with everything and have everyone wonder … Or stand up for myself and say, ‘No, I’m actually not okay with this, and I’m walking away.’ So that’s what I decided to do…I was shattered.”
She recalled flying to Australia to see Glen after he told her not to come, only to realize the relationship was over. “I went anyways just to look him in the eye and break up with him,” she said.
Glen, now 37, later addressed Gigi’s comments in a September 2025 GQ interview, where he spoke kindly about his ex. “I will always have nothing but love for her and respect for her,” he said. “Everybody’s always going to have their own narrative on things and all that. And she’s welcome to it. Relationships are really hard.”
Sydney also weighed in on the whirlwind of rumors that surrounded the trio, telling Variety in October 2025, “The press did it to themselves. There was no leaning in, per se. Truly the tabloids and journalists just created it and kept going… Glen and I genuinely care for each other and have a love and respect for one another. I love being with him. And I think people just truly saw a really beautiful pairing.”
