Gordon Ramsay Becomes Father for the 6th Time
Hand Gordon Ramsay a cigar. The notoriously irate chef became a father for the sixth time when his wife, Tana, gave birth to their youngest child last November 11.
The 57-year-old celebrity chef took to his social media account to share a heartwarming photo that showed him tenderly kissing his newborn son on the head while his 49-year-old wife cradled the baby. On his Instagram announcement, Ramsey revealed that the birth was an early, amazing birthday present. The world-renowned chef’s birthday was on November 8.
The British celebrity chef and restaurateur wrote on his account, “What an amazing birthday present please welcome Jesse James Ramsay, 7lbs 10oz whopper!! One more bundle of love to the Ramsay brigade!! 3 boys, 3 girls…. Done.”
Gordon and Tana are now proud parents to six children. Aside from their new bundle of joy, they also have 25-year-old Megan, 23-year-old twins Jack and Holly, 22-year-old Tilly, and 4-year-old Oscar.
Tana also published her own post, saying that their family is blessed with their newest baby. She updated her followers with: “It’s been a nerve-wracking 9 months, but we’ve made it, and we have been blessed with this little bundle. Ramsay family is definitely complete. Jesse James Ramsay, we love you so much ❤️.”
The couple’s friends also celebrated the good news and posted their congratulatory messages on the Ramsays’ social media accounts.
Kirsty Gallacher shared her joy for the new Ramsay baby by posting, “Wow, congratulations, guys, what lovely news.”
Paddy McGuinnes wrote, “Fantastic! Congratulations x” while Joe Wicks said: Absolutely wonderful news. Congratulations mate. Love to the family ❤️.”
The wife of Tyson Fury, Paris, also sent her well wishes, “Congratulations to you all. Was thinking about it the other day. It can’t be long. Best blessings xxxx.”
Gordon and Tana married in 1996. Until recently, the couple has kept silent about Tana’s latest pregnancy. Last September, Gordon revealed that Tana was pressuring him to have another baby, but he was against the idea.
During Nick Grimshaw and Angela Hartnett’s Dish podcast, Gordon said to the hosts, “I’ve got a little secret…Tana wants another one.” He then admitted that he was hesitant about becoming a new parent again because his family would need two buses if it happened. He would also be older than most parents at his child’s school and could easily be mistaken as the grandfather.
Gordon then comically posed the question, “And what about sports day? The egg and spoon race. What am I going to do?” And with that, he concluded that even if he’d love to have another one, his final decision was to keep his family as is.
During the same interview, Gordon took the opportunity to reveal that Oscar, his youngest, was following in his footsteps when it came to complaining about the food during his first week in school.
Despite not wanting to expand his family, Gordon admitted that he has become better with each child. He said his fathering skills improved as he explained, “Everything you did wrong the first time, you do so much better. He’s growing up at such a rate of knots. He’s like a little adult at four because he’s got four big siblings that he answers to.”
Regardless of his initial misgivings, we’re happy to see Gordon acting like one proud poppa!
